Heard her being interviewed again on the radio yesterday she's a breath of fresh air. We're very fortunate to have the two local owners we've got.

Give it another year and the Vale fans will be hounding her out because they've not been promoted.

Was she begging for tradesmen to do jobs for free again?

Loves the sound of her own voice and takes the credit for her under appreciated staff. As per 99% of business people.

"The way we viewed it...yes we have paid far too much but you look at it as a business deal. So, as a business person if you were going to assess it, you would say why on earth have you done that! But that isn't how we viewed it. We really viewed it as almost a loved one was held hostage and someone had to pay the ransom. The club would have gone into administration, it would have folded." From her Wikipedia page.
Well she contradicts herself within that statement.
I do have a slight disconnect with Vale.
At school (Moorside) most of the kids were Stoke and the only Vale fans I had much to do with were my dads brothers. Left Stoke for uni nearly 30 years ago and have lived away ever since so not really had the day to day rivalry with work folk etc and have always avoided reading about the Vale. It’s a bit irrational but I reckon I’ve got more insight about every other club in the football league than Vale.

Vale tend to have that effect on people. Mind Numbing mediocrity induces instantaneous lapses of attention and sustained memory loss amongst all those who set out to take any interest in their exploits.

Worst thing that could have happened her taking over. I was convinced another season with the Smurf would have seen them disappear into oblivion and never to be seen again. Now that would have been all my Christmas’s coming at once 👍

She’s a great businessperson, a lovely woman and I don’t begrudge the Shanahan’s any of the success they deserve.

I thought it was someone of Loose Women when I read the title
Don't know anything about the owners to be honest , not sure why anyone would want a club to go bust. Maybe I just don't have any interest in them any more than say Carlisle or Torquay.

I'm not a Failite by any stretch of the imagination but the Shenannigans must be alike a breath of fresh air for the unwashed given the crap that's owned them over the years. For the life of me I can't find myself disliking them or Askey. I'd even go as far as seeing them as our second club that we can use to bring our lesser players on. OS.

On Friday they had a big advice and jobs day in tandem with a local MP Jonathan somebody. My mates lad is furloughed and possibly about to lose his job, so he went along. Apparently the set up was brilliant with people from DWP, Citizens advice, Apprentice schemes etc etc .
Whatever your feelings on them there is no doubt that along with the meals provided that they are reaching out to the community.
Do I like Port Vale, no I don't, I remember the 90's thanks very much. But credit where credit is due and it looks that they are not the joke they were under Arthur Daley

Mainly, having been amongst the unwashed on occasions. Trust me the hate for Stoke is on another level. They would love Stoke to drop down the divisions and disappear from the planet. Hate my club I hate you simples. Very childish I know. But that’s just the way it is.

Other than she looks like a female Smurf...
I think it's great that our local club seems to have genuine caring owners.
As long as they are below us in the League then I have no problems at all.
My mum was on the semi-final official coach with me in her womb so perhaps I have deep rooted sympathies..😊

Bloody outsiders, rocking up in Stoke-On-Trent,establishing successful businesses and creating jobs for Stoke people, then reinvesting in Stoke projects and 'giving back' to the area that's helped make them because they've taken to the place and formed emotional loyalties, with their bloody employees spending their lunch hours and more in local pubs and cafes etc, ensuring more of the monies generated stay within the S-O-T economy as opposed to being leached away to London or even further afield to absent shareholders and business owners.
They need to f*ck right off, outsource as much as possible overseas and take the likes of Emma Bridgewater with them too...
Of course, the Shanahans could be just another pair of egomaniacs, and owning the Vale could be another vanity project ineluctably fated for disaster, however they seem to be giving it a good go and you only have to walk through the mother town to see it desperately needs their stewardship of the Vale to go well amongst other things.
Burslem Park is a real gem too.

I know Carol and Kevin fairly well. I find it quite funny that they used to have season tickets at Stoke 4 years ago. They're lovely people though and have worked incredibly hard to get to where they have. Credit where it's due.

Don't think she ever had a Stoke season ticket tbf but both Kevin (estranged husband) and her son did. She appears to be really nice (and can maintain it for a long time) but there's an evil side to her and she's unable to react positively to any criticism or difference of opinion. I'm pretty sure they'll push for promotion next year but as soon as some fans start to moan (and they will when they're stuck mid-table) we'll see the other side of her personality.

My mates dad used to be a director there back in the 80s so I used to go quite a bit. I never really liked them but never hated them. Obviously I like joining in on the piss taking but I certainly wouldn't want them to disappear. I mean it would take away all that banter for a start.
