Pretty amazing that Stoke has produced not one, not two, but three black lads from difficult working-class backgrounds who became not just outstanding footballers at a time when racism was rife, but also highly successful broadcasters later in their careers. They're a credit to the area when you think about it like. Even more so when you consider just how small the Afro-carribean in our area is. He's not that small but I take your point

Grew up with the earles on the Coalville estate , went all through school with his older brother Neville , Robbie was a great footballer even as a kid and was tough been a black kid in those days on a miners estate , done well for himself and his mum still lives round the corner

Yeah, I’ve got to say I like Robbie Earle.
Also, while this wasn’t the case in his playing days it’s hard not to like Ainsworth either. It’s rare to have a non one dimensional football manager and he’s achieved great things without making it all about him.
They’re not all bad.
