McClean for me. The home game v Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day just sticks in my mind for the absolute mental closing stages where we snatched that victory and he gave his absolute all, despite carrying an injury.

just glad to stay up....but its got to be between mcclean, clucas powell & campbell? I'd say McClean, Clucas and Allen, as Campbell and Powell didn't play all that much. The end of the season was very important though. I think I'd vote for McClean, just above Clucas.

Clucas is the only choice and he’s been crap for two thirds of it 😂

between clucas and Mclean,i would just go for james myself,i think he get way to much stick on here,he does try and give is all, might be even better if the crowd got behind him more, instead of throwing abuse at him.

How can James McLean get player of the season when, even though he's shown the most commitment and effort, been very effective and adapted to different positions, when he doesn't wear a poppy?

McClean
Gave 100% from start to finish. Never shirked his responsibilities for 1 second. (Can't say the same for Clucas) Limited player but beggars can't be choosers!
7 goals 9 assists
Thank You Macca

It would surely have to be Clucas or McClean, I'd vote for McClean.
As someone mentioned above, his performance at the end against Sheffield Wednesday, when he was almost dead dead on his feet, was extraordinary. Beyond that though, he's the one player you can rely on to always be giving 100% and driving us forward right to the final whistle.

McClean for me, not for brilliance, for his effort and tenacity given the out of order unfair stick he gets from shitheads who haven't the slightest idea of the wrongs inflicted on all sides by all sides in N Ireland. My folks were a mixed marriage and vilified by both the main sides but there are so many nuances there and what people suffered there doesn't bear thinking about. For ignorant trash who have no idea giving McClean the abuse he gets and for him to then continue to try his best makes him a warrior in my eyes and I would rather be standing in the trenches alongside someone like him than the thick trash that give him stick. He's given it all, played out of position, chipped in with important goals that have kept us up and given some of the parasites we have at Stoke City at the moment then he gets my vote

I believe the 3rd goal did them in. That put them level with Swansea on GD but Swansea has scored more goals which is the 2nd tiebreaker

Has to be James McClean for me with Clucas a fairly close second.
Gives his all. His all may not be enough for bayern, but it is more than any other of our players gave on a regular basis. Clucas is a better technical player but McClean has, on many occasions, been a force of nature without which we would almost certainly have been relegated. I don't always like his political stance but I can't honestly say I would feel much different to him if I had been born into his community. Maybe having both Irish Catholic and Protestant family members I am doomed forever to sit on the fence where "the troubles" are concerned.
Had Powell been in favour from the start of the season he would have run McClean close - I hope he continues his fine run of form next season - he's in a different class to all of our other players.

no individual qualifies - should be null and void...... Bollocks. For two thirds of the season we were a decent side, just the damage that was done early doors was too severe to truly recover from when we look at final league position. It’s wrong to say the year was a complete write off. There have been many bright points since MON came in and several players have done very well. For me Clucas edges it but McLean, Campbell, and Powell have also all had strong seasons and deserve a bit of recognition.
