There were many matches where James McLean looked like the only Stoke player who gave a toss. Always gave 100%, got some vital goals.

I don't think that there should be one this year. The most expensively assembled squad in the history of the Second Division has shambled its way to 16th again. What's to celebrate?

Clucas every time. Letās not forget how many goals and points McLean cost us in those first 15 games (I get he was out of position and hung out). Heās got all the effort in the world but heās so limited in ability and his crossing for a winger is awful. Clucas has been the best of a bad bunch really. Consistent performer week in week out and scored more goals from midfield than anyone in 20 years.

Shouldn't be one, a good part of the season has been shambolic delivered from the most expensive squad in this leagues history.
Micheal O Neil deserves all the credit for getting enough organisation, game plans and discipline out of this rabble to keep us up from the position he took over.
Clearly wont happen in a short turnaround to next season but would not care one jot if the vast majority of this squad ever played for us again after their "efforts" of the last couple years.

Following being made Captain, Sam Clucas actually put in serious shifts in the last 3 games ( and Iām someone who has found it hard to like him)- when he can be bothered, heās actually not a bad footballer- 11 goals from midfield is also excellent. So ( and I never thought Iād say this), for me itās Sam Clucas.

I think our key player this season was not one of the squad but I feel that it was probably obvious that the team watched marvelous and the results kept us up after this so in a round about way nello

Listen to yourselves! No player who cupped their ears at or shushed at the fans deserves our vote as player of the year!!
The overpaid bunch of tossers to a man believe they are better than the fans, if they were we would never have been in the mess we were in, that most think they are great for getting us out of the mess makes me puke. Wage bill is a general reflection of league position. We are obviously the exception to the rule.

Itās not irrelevant at all. They are paid servants of our club, highly paid āentertainersā itās their job. If they donāt like other peopleās opinions they are definitely in the wrong trade. It canāt be nice being abused, no shit? But when you are playing shit or not trying and being paid more in a week than most fans earn in a year, expect some grief, meh! Have some dignity, bite your lip and go home in your Ferrari to your mansion and you page 3 wannabe after. Sure as as shit they wonāt be the first person in the world to get a bit of abuse and they wonāt be the last, but they at least get paid a kings ransom for it!

McClean or Clucas. Can't split them at the moment.
McClean did the ear cupping which I really resent. However he's been pretty immense most of the season despite the obvious issues we've had.

It's between Clucas (top scorer, created for others and generally very consistent in terms of work-rate and doing donkey work, but a few performances which left a lot to be desired) and Jimmy Mac (popped up with some big goals, led by example and worked his bollocks off, even if the quality wasn't there at times) - for me Clucas edges it as his output was more consistent over the course of the season, but no complaints if Jimmy won it - I can't say I was thrilled when we signed him, but I actually like him, he's a grafter and puts a lot of more technically proficient players to shame. Think little Joe would have been in the conversation too if not for how woeful he was under Jones, and obviously the injury. Special mention too for Gregory - a lot of people on here have knocked him, but, again, he's a grafter and you could never fault his work rate or commitment, even if the end product wasn't there.

no individual qualifies - should be null and void...... Bollocks. For two thirds of the season we were a decent side, just the damage that was done early doors was too severe to truly recover from when we look at final league position. Itās wrong to say the year was a complete write off. There have been many bright points since MON came in and several players have done very well. For me Clucas edges it but McLean, Campbell, and Powell have also all had strong seasons and deserve a bit of recognition. Bollocks yourself Sir! I never said the season was a write-off - just that there is no individual that warrants being rated significantly above any other - all have had poor spells, some longer than others but to nominate someone on the back of this seasons cyclic flirtation with relegation would be for the sake of it and actually may cause disharmony - should be voided and give MoN the Stoke Manager of the season !
