Ahh fair enough sorry, I'd be happy to see all change but I won't be too disapointed to see Smith still in there, I think he's decent enough but then I don't think our aim is promotion any more, so decent will do, not until we've got rid of all the crap hanging around in the squad anyway. O'Neill is definitely looking at promotion - the thing is he's going to do it by getting the best out of what he's got rather than try to buy himself out of the league - which he can't do anyway because of FFP and a curtailed transfer window. Calls for changing 5 or more of the first team are completely misplaced. The problem isn't the quality of the players - we have a decent Championship quality squad - it is the the fact that those players haven't lived up to their potential and we haven't gelled as a team. O'Neill saved us from relegation and got us performing at playoff standard by getting the players to live up to their potential and functioning as a team. We've already recruited a left back - which is the one position we simply had to fill - and I genuinely think all we will now see is a couple of squad players - depending on decisions on/by BMI, Chester and Afobe - and a backup rightback to challenge Smith. You say that like he has a choice I'm all for the manager being ambitious and I agree we do have some quality in some of the forward positions but the quality we'd need for promotion will cost and I don't see that being possible while the squad is in the state its in, we've signed an average lb which will do but I doubt he'd have been at the top of the list if he wasn't free, I'm just being realistic and not getting carried away beacsue we didn't go down. They would have lived up to that potential if we'd had a semi compitent manager in charge as has been shown with MON, Jones just went a little nuts

It's a signing that underlines our almost complete lack of scouting. We have known we needed a left back since Pieters went. So in all this time all we do is browse out of contract players and rely on a few contacts the manager has. For a crucial aspect of developing a football club of our size our scouting remains laughable. Last season all we could find was an out of contract 35 yr old Ward and now an out of contract Fox. The good news of course is he is free and younger than Ward let's hope he delivers. Our new postmam is in his twenties our other one was about 35 and the wife says the new one delivers on time every time 😎

His hands were tied as NI manager and that didn't stop him over achieving with what he had to hand. Teams don't get promoted from the Championship by having a squad of star players - they get promoted because they are fit, motivated and well organised. I doubt anyone would have excited had we picked up any of the players in the current Leeds squad because player for player they arent world beaters. However they were a very well drilled unit. Teamwork is going to get us out of this league - not because we make the best Panini sticker collection.

I asked an actual Owl who said he was fucking wank I asked an actual owl also. He said he didn't know who I was talking about and that he didn't give two hoots about football. Poor, that.

Chester cost us more points than he won us. Thompson has been poor. TOB - probably one for future. So thanks to chester for all the mistakes haha

Not quite what was hoping for but its a left back so its an improvment on what we have had past couple of seasons

So thanks to chester for all the mistakes haha We have won 7 out of the 13 games James Chester played for us - thats a good record. I aren’t saying he is the player we should sign permanently but it was a good loan signing. Every player will make mistakes and he has made a few but on the whole he has had a positive impact. Thompson really hasn’t been that bad, strange that he has such a mixed bag of reviews between our supporters, his set pieces have been very good, he has quality and is still fairly young so he will develop - analyse his performance at Nottingham Forest. TOB - young, clearly one for upcoming seasons but again has showed in his short spells in the side he has the ability to play at this level.

Basing his entire loan on those games is a little unfair. Thompson has quality in that left foot, far better than League one. Players have gone further with less talent than him.

Luton away and most of the home games that we could watch before lockdown he played in he was all over the shop. Lindsay was better and he’s awful. No he’s not. He’s a nothing player.

Chester was good enough to get us over the line, thats my point. I wouldn’t sign him permanently but it was a successful loan. Lindsay isn’t as good as Chester. To me a nothing player would suggest he offers nothing to the team but you are delusional if you can’t see he doesn’t have quality.

But he played awfully and the wins were about scoring lots of goals. Lindsay has been better than Chester for us. Both are toss. He offers fuck all bar set piece delivery. He might as well not be on the pitch until you get a corner. He has no presence about him at all. Could he play on the wing? Because he can’t play centrally.

It's a gamble when you sign any player as we have found to our peril over the past 3/4 seasons!

First clean sheet.
I didn't catch much of him, but I suppose you don't want too much attention drawn to your defenders.

You could tell the difference defensively when he was there and when Tymon dropped back in. They got in behind Tymon twice.
He looked poor on the ball so that will have to improve.

Didn't realize how slow he was until watched him today. I like tymon and think he's becoming a decent little player.

Not the most inspiring review, but all we need is a defender who doesn’t get caught out frequently and doesn’t make too many mistakes. We all want a good, overlapping fullback. But what we really need for promotion is a team that doesn’t have to score two to win each game because the defence can’t focus for 90 minutes. Let’s hope he can start off solid at the back at least.

There was a more encouraging review from a Wednesday fan on here yesterday, although I'd settle for competent! Surely the plan is for BMI to move on now as there really is no role for him - but it's hard to see where he'd go with his contract? MLS? Hi there, what is your opinion on Morgan Fox? Has he signed too? Recently he’s been excellent. A proper full-back. Physical, brave, excellent in the air. In fact so good in the air that he’s played CB and been very decent. Moderate pace but certainly not slow. He’ll be one of the fittest in your team. Eye for a goal. Very dangerous from set-pieces. Scored some brave crackers for us. When he first signed it was weird. He’d play a really good game then turn up like Dillon from Magic Roundabout the next game. But that’s gone - never less than good and often excellent. Attacks well up the left-wing. Puts his crosses over first time, usually with some menace.
