Were you forgetting we’ve got Michael O’Neill?
Absolute Herculean effort from all involved, and to think we were doomed and going down.
MON is exactly the right appointment and the more I listen to him, the more he reminds me of Sir Alex Ferguson.

After the Wigan and Leeds games I think my despair was justified but I am delighted the team dug in and turned things round.

He's performed a minor miracle, however now the big test is signing some quality players who will perform, which is where the last two managers failed miserably.

Last 5 games looked daunting on paper when the fixtures came out. To get 10/15 points was unbelievably good.

Guilty also, didn't think we'd get anything from the last 3 games. I also thought we'd clearly blown it failing against Wigan and Boro. Nice to be wrong, he's a magician that's for sure.

I thought we'd do well in the last 2 games if we did well in the first 5 on the basis that is we did badly in the first 5 five it would be because we had resorted to early season form and lost confidence. After the Wigan result I thought there was no way we'd get anything from the last 2 games and that everything was on the Brum and Bristol games.
You are right - I underestimated O'Neill's ability to pick the team up after a few bad results. We really have dropped on with top class manager.

Everybody is guilty. I can't believe anyone would believe we'd get something from these two games after that performance at Wigan.

Always expected us to beat Forest.
Brentford I didn’t but I was thinking that it was amusing that everyone was looking at every permutation of us getting the points to stay up and not one mentioned beating Brentford.
If x and y and Z loses with q winning.....

I was thinking of the Wigan & Leeds defeats and didn't really see us getting a point let alone 6! 10 points from the last 4 games is absolutely amazing! Bring on next season, I can't wait now.

I was confident we'd beat Forest but I still can't believe we beat Brentford. Neither can Barnsley. 4 points from Stoke and Barnsley for Promotion to the Premier League and lovely new ground. Unbelievable bottle job

Had a worry after Reading, a panic attack after Wigan and a niggling doubt about his marbles after Leeds.
(Had CV19 actually addled his brain and stolen our pre-lockdown mastermind from us?)
But now? He's a keeper (and not a Jack Butland one at that).
Looking forward to where he can take us.

Anyone with half a brain knew we'd get at best a point from our last two games.

Thought we'd lose to Brentford until I saw they'd won 8 in a row, then thought we'd win.
Because if there is one thing I do know, it's that football is a silly old sport.

I didn’t think we would win either but I did think 50 points was enough anyhow
I just hope we start next season like we finished this one. We have a crap habit of starting slowly, being off the pace and then it comes together after about 6 weeks.
If we are going to challenge we need to be at it from the first day

It’s not just those last two games. I hoped for the best and prepared for the worst.
But ever since MON came here it’s been clear things have been changing.
Those last few games, I won’t forget in a hurry, no matter what happens next. On a par with Tone’s great escape in his first season (which eventually led to great things), or Asprey’s great escape in 83-84 (which led to a catastrophe the following season).
