48 points from 31 games. Pro rata that over a full campaign, and it gives us 71 points. Thats enough to see us finish in the play offs this season!! A goal difference of +8 since taking over too. It was -14 after 15 matches. 49 goals over those 31 games as well! Only 2 teams have scored more than us during that time! (Leeds and Brentford). We hadn't scored more than 2 goals in a game in forever before he arrived and we seem to manage it every other week now!! I'm not one for getting carried away, but we're definitely winning the league next season. ππππ

Theres still a lot to do. The main issue is the players we're paying shitloads to and are contributing absolutely nothing.
I'd be happy with a left back, centre half and a defensive midfielder as well as shipping a few out

If we can get rid of Wimmer, and then allow Bruno to leave while replacing him with a proper LB, I imagine it would free up an awful lot of wages.

Another month and we probably would've caught the Baggies in the MON table.

Selling a couple of Africans for the correct money would also free up a lot of cash. Plus relieve us of the burden of continually having to find loan homes for them. That has to be a priority this time around.

I really really really hope we win the league, but it'll be a very good season if we challenge for the playoffs. I doubt anyone at the club will be silly enough to think we're going to walk it after the past two seasons, and I hope O'Neill drills it into every player that we need to fight our damndest for every point and every win.

When is last time we scored 4 or more goals away from home 3 times in one season? Last game I remember with 4 away (more actually) was the 5-2 against Hudders. Before that, the 4-1 against Villa in 2014 maybe? EDIT - Misread your post, you were on about 3 times in a season. Yes, cannot remember that. Not bad for this lot!

Is Wimmer still here? Fucking hell.
Has Imbula left yet?
I'd sell Butland as well tbh.
We need to get the next couple of months right and we have a real chance next season.

What is standout is our results against playoff and promotion chasing teams this last 4 games.
Our result all but ended Brentfords chances of automatic after an 8 game winning run, then we gave Forrest a good seeing to tonight to end their chances of promotion this season.
Results like these are good indicators for next season if we can keep this momentum.

When is last time we scored 4 or more goals away from home 3 times in one season? We did it 3 times in 2 seasons under Mick Mills (Oldham 4-2 85/86, Hull 4-0, Bradford 4-1 86/87), and twice under Boskamp in 05/06 (Ipswich 4-1, Brighton 5-1) but canβt remember 3 times in one season.....

You would hope we will be a lot more organised next season and we can convert some of those losses into wins. Confidence was through the floor when Magic MON came here and somehow he has instilled some belief into our players and got them winning.
We have even had 3,4 and 5 goals in a few games, it's mental how much he has improved this team with pretty much the same players and only a couple of additions. He has done it without Badou, Etebo, Woods and Allen too...imagine that situation when he 1st came, that's a strong midfield in this division.

Let's face it, our form since MON has come in, overall, has been utterly wank worthy.
Just wait till we smash this tinpot league with 138 points next season, I will make the eruption at Vesuvius look like a joke.

I think the big thing is he's taken essentially the same squad inherited from Jones and simultaneously turned it in to a much more solid looking side, also with sustained goal threats from the midfield - which is something we've really lacked since.... well I can't remember!!
18 goals between Clucas and McClean, and a combimed 20 from the three strikers.
Turning that same squad (other than a couple of Jan additions) from bottom of the table, to a playoff form team is a great achievement. Big test in this transfer window... it'll be a strange market due to the timings and also the increased financial pressures on some / many clubs

Because of Wigan's points deduction, we'd have actually stayed up with MON's points total alone. We wouldn't even have had to rely on Wigan had Chester not given away that stupid penalty at Luton (and we'd have finished 13th overall).
