10 goals and 5 assists so far for Mame this season. So underrated on here. Madness. Like Bojan he'd been out for so long he just needed someone to believe in him and give him 10 games to recover confidence, sharpness and fitness. Instead we spent 20m on Afobe and Vokes. Scandalous.

10 goals and 5 assists so far for Mame this season. So underrated on here. If he’d have played up front week in week out he’d have scored 10+ every season in the Premier League despite his faults. In the Championship he’d have got us 15 goals. We wasted so much time and money trying to replace a player who could do a perfectly good job.....

Shame the man who wanted to spend 7M of the clubs money on him once upon a time thought he was a right back.
I don't know how our owners keep stumbling on the clowns...

Never understood it. It’s not like anyone can throw crap in about his attitude etc. Yeah his touch isn’t the best but Christ he gets in positions to score i goals and even if he misses a sitter he doesn’t hide and will get himself in those positions again. Good in the air too, so ideal for this league.

Much better than Vokes But so’s my Gran Just noticed he's into double figures with 5 assists. He's doing very well, it doesn't matter what league you are in if you're scoring 1:2 or making an assist when you don't score. But still, not good enough for this shit league.... Mental. People are also claiming he was shit, yet he really was never played upfront consistently particularly in the championship which is absolutely bizarre.

The guy scored our best Premier League tally in the 14/15. Sure he was frustrating and had poor control often, but he could score, not only that but he was a player prepared to stick with us and keep trying no matter where our idiotic managers decided to play him. As said above replacing him with the likes of Vokes was another one of those 'Stoke City transfer decisions'! Hard to fucking believe.

Frustrating definitely, especially if you put into context if he had an amazing 1st touch or scored 1 in 2 chances he wouldn't have been at Stoke. Certainly better than what we've got and often wasted.

Fine player that lost his way as a right back. All the best mama He was pretty handy at right back, too. Arguably between him and Wilko for our best PL right back.

And then we spent our last few pennies on Brown.
From Mame to Brown.
No wonder we are slip sliding away down the leagues.

Amazing how well he did at right back considering he just isn’t one, never has been and never will be. A waste of a good goalscorer though.

Under appreciated on here ran himself into the ground every time he put the shirt on,how we could do with him now He would arguably get in up front, right wing maybe even right back over what we have had past couple seasons

Just got his second of the game against Etebo's Galatasaray.
15 for the season now. Joint 2nd top scorer in Turkey.

Big gap in the middle of the park, where's Galatasary's defensive midfielder?
I'll say it for the 86th time, for all his faults if we'd have played Diouf in his natural position week in week out he'd have scored 10-12 a season in the Premier League and 15-18 in the Championship.......

With what happened in the previous two seasons the two parties were always going to separate, after becoming a bit part player Diouf needed a new challenge. He was criminally under used.......

Just checked and it's actually 13 for the season for Mame, which puts him 4th top scorer.
Impressive for a 33year-old playing for one of the smaller teams though.
Hard to argue that he'd been underused here when you see how many minutes garbage like Berahino and Afobe got in our Champ years.

You can only assume, after reading Wimmer's piece, that a club decision was taken to give him less games to ultimately get his wages off the books. Shame really as I agree with you. Think he could and would have easily hit 15+ in the Championship.

In 18/19,
Mame got 600 minutes (he got 85 in total last year - and still managed the last-minute winner against Wigan) Berahino got 1300 And Afobe got 3000 minutes.
We haven't always helped ourselves, have we?
Even when he did play, he was arsed about on the wing.

Absolutely criminal we spunked £33 mil or so on Vokes, Bera and Afobe.
Can't imagine his FFP effect is worse than Vokes + Afobe ffs.

I still chuckle when I think he played RWB for however many games.
He did well, but just how did it get to that stage.
He must have wondered what the hell was going on.

It is absolutely shameful how we treated him, and leaves a really foul taste in the mouth. Mame always gave his all, even when played out of position and when used up front found himself in some very good positions (though often his touch let him down), I'm certain he would have notched at least ten a season with a good run of games.
Disgusting from those involved, though I'm buzzing that he's ending his career amongst the goals. Good luck to him.

OK, but then go on to spend £12.5M on Afobe, £10M on Ince and £9M on Vokes seems a bit strange to me!?
