Diouf was good for us and to think that we could have had him up front with Bojan behind him in this league but two managers didn’t fancy it. Absolute clowns. It would be the best strike duo in this league now by miles. We disagree on a lot of things, for me if we had kept Lambert we woukd be in a much better position than we are now. The management and decisions that followed the removal of lambert were an absolute travesty. We needed to get rid of anybody saleable Butland Allen Bauer Ndiaye Woukd have raised 30m got rid of wages. Diouf woukd have been fine at this level instead we sign guarantees promotion Adobe at 12m. What on earth was that? Improving contracts for Allen, Bauer and Butland Then shelling out on old relegated players McLean Clucas and Ince. Makes my blood boil just thinking about it and the guy in charge of it all is still there. We didn't have offers for Butland,Ndiayr or Bauer that summer Not sure we had one for Allen that summer either Can't sell unless there is a buyer and the player wants to go there Afobe and Ince have been appalling signings McLean and Clucas have been all right

are you missing me It comes to something when you can say to yourself "He was a better striker than Vokes!" Jesus wept. 😩 A far better striker than Vokes, better attitude too, at least with Diouf he gave us some good memories and hit double fingers in the PL, I don’t think Vokes would get to Double figures in the next 5 years combined

Very under-rated and misused by Hughes.

Ndiaye was interesting Newcastle and Bauer we could have sold we he was only on 20k a week

Clumsy player in the right place at the right time. A lot of his goals, not all, were flukes with bad defending/goalkeeping AKA Man City away, but they all count.

Can you believe we rejected 10m for him in 2018 Still think to this day it was a windup No one in their right mind would pay ten bob let alone 10M.

Can you believe we rejected 10m for him in 2018 Who bid that for him? I like him but post relegation you had to be accepting that especially when the manager wasn't using him.

People are quick to forget that Diouf's debut season was the best (joint?) returns we had from any striker during our premier league stay.
After this he was badly managed by Hughes, he was constantly moved around playing on the wing, right back and right wing back whilst also suffering the tragic loss of his mother.
Yes he wasn't perfect and he had it in him to miss sitters but he also had the knack of getting himself in to the positions to miss those sitters.

Rejecting £10m for him (as we wanted £15m) is absolutely mental.

I love Mame and think he was bloody good for us tbh. But mad we rejected once we were relegated. Sad though that it would have made Afobe break evenish. Useless club.

It was probably Mame’s best moment as a Stoke player, and a highlight of our time in the Premier League. I’m not going to criticise his effort, or work rate but I’m sorry, as a footballer he was bloody awful.

I thought the £10m offer for Diouf from Leicester was a previous transfer window? did they come back in? we had a bid that January for Allen from West ham who did we turn bid for Bauer from? any idea how much it was?

His touch sometimes let him down and not the best when given too much time but had intelligent movement and excellent striker's instincts. He was a very good forward for us for a time, about as good as a club our size can expect in the top flight. His reputation is completely unwarranted imo.

I'd swap Brown, Vokes and Afobe for Diouf if possible! He is a much better striker than all those three, he is even a better right winger!
