Felt sorry for Mame....he showed us what he was capable of when he played up front, with 13 goals in his first season, without always making the starting line up!!! Then there were the 2 goal he scored in the 6-1 win over Liverpool, one being a cracker!!!
After that, Hughes seemed to play him anywhere but his rightful position!!! From that point onwards, he was never considered regularly for the first team, and slated on here by virtually every man and his dog!!!
All the best Mame, hope it all works out for ya, wherever that may be???

Anyone who scores 13 goals for us in a season deserves nothing but respect
Just like the other Mamma - top bloke

Criminally misused and mistreated by all his managers here. Not saying he was the greatest but he could've done a better job than those picked before him at times. All the best Mame, keep smiling.

Can’t really understand why he was pushed so far out after our relegation, no worse than some of the shit we paid 10m for. Yet he never got near the team

Mame's another player who was given a contract that far outlasted his usefulness as a player, but he was decent enough for us at his peak.
Couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo but had the knack of sniffing out chances, some of which he'd even manage to convert! The Man City goal will be the one that sticks in the memory.
Good luck Mame.

His Stoke career was totally derailed by the tragic death of his mother and the subsequent mishandling of him when he returned from compassionate leave. Hughes didn't seem to be able reinstill confidence in him at all - never really let him play himself into form, kept picking him out wide etc. I remember an away game at West Ham where he came on as a second half sub (think it was a low quality 0-0 that was there for the taking) and Hughes was absolutely full of rage after Diouf had missed a couple of good chances. Don't think he ever started another game up top for Hughes after that and from then in his confidence drained away completely and his first touch turned to shite, nevermind his finishing.

Thank you Mama, you gave us everything and will be remembered very fondly by all of us. You wore the shirt with pride and should have worn it more 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 He was one of those players who had a knack of being in the right place at the right time - how many of his goals are from re-bounds, deflections etc. It's something that you just can't teach. As others have said seemed such a likeable bloke and that wonderful smile will not be forgotten

He had a strange career with us and who knows why he didn't play more often in the past 2 or 3 seasons. Like Campbell has this year, surely he could've done a good job playing on the right as an alternative to Ince. He did a decent job at wingback on occasions, after all...

As has been mentioned before, that night against Chelsea when he stood in at right back he was immense. Literally ran himself into the ground and could hardly move at the end. Some great goals along the way but I'll never forget that performance. All the best Dioufy. Not quite legend status but a great servant to the club.
