Chester was a MON signing he was always going to play him over others despite him gifting at least four points to the opposition which could easily have cost us big style. So you believe MON intentionally left a better player out just to play his own player, or stab in the dark here MON saw Lindsey and saw we needed better and got Chester in to help us survive Yep I do believe that he played him because he signed him do you believe he helped save us really ?

Its not as though Lindsay hasn’t cost us points though? Mistakes happen unfortunately. I would rather have Chester playing than Lindsay. For an experienced footballer Chester was a liability and I hope to God we don't sign him permanently.

I'd give Chester a go over Indi..... But to be serious why not use Collins instead, we want him to improve, he needs to improve massively , give him the game time to try and do it better that than giving an over paid Indi game time to find out what we already know about him. nothing against giving collins game time all i was saying is that if Bruno stays he would be a better option than chester, and it would free up a place that needs covering for us, I don't think it would be better than Chester.

Cant make me mind up on chester, he must be on big money at villa, for me I think we should be nurturing Collins and if we are to dip in the market go for Ayala

Interesting to see contract length on this one
Would have thought he would have been looking for a 2-yr deal.

If he can play more consistently like he did in Villas promotion campaign then this is a good signing

Just how many not up to the job centrebacks do we need? Blocks the path for the 2 younger lads & is more than a little dodgy.
I can only assume Indi & Lindsey both have deals set up to go?
What time is Chris Brunt getting here?

He was pretty wank.
Plus hes expensive and will keep Collins away from the first team.
Awful signing in my opinion

Haven't got a problem retaining Chester as a rotational option especially with a proper Left back now in place and potentially signing some experience/quality in DM position

He did nothing for me over the loan to suggest he's worth a contract.

The fact that O’Neil felt the need to play Collins at right back to cover for Chester’s lack of height is concerning. Why sign a defender that you don’t trust to play in a back four?
Maybe we’ll be seeing three at the back a lot more next season?

I’m behind MON 100%, but this is a very poor decision if true.

Maybe we’ll be seeing three at the back a lot more next season? I think that will be something that we may lean on - the 3 at the back system worked and tbh he looked very comfortable in a back 3. I can see why they have signed him on a permanent basis.

Really surprised at this one because I am guessing a signing on fee and chunky wages coupled with at least a two year deal you would think?
Surely we could have got better and younger for the same package?

This deal will only make sense if we sell 2 other centre backs.
I know I’m a broken record but would a DoF allow this signing when we already have hundreds of players that are either exclusively centre backs or people that can play centre back.
Sell BMI and Souttar and this deal is passable.

Not for me. As stated he had plenty of opportunities to prove his worth, and I think most will agree his performances didn’t scream ‘sign him up’
Happy to be proved wrong, but think we need to focus on Collins
