I still can't get it round my head as to how Jones has gone in there and got 13 points from 24 (extrapolated over a season worth 74 points) with a rough average side of: Sluga (signed by G Jones for 1.5M) Bree (Signed by G Jones on loan) Carter Vickers Bradley (Free - Plymouth) Potts (Free - WHU) Rea (Free - Brighton) MPanzu (Youth) Berry (Free - Cambridge) Lee (Free - Barnsley) Collins (Free - Crawley) Cornick (undisclosed - Bournemouth) Yet he couldn't get a group of experienced Championship and international players to play the same system here? It's a complete mystery to me. I imagine it's probably to do with that ragtag bunch of free transfers not thinking to themselves, 'I'm a Premier League footballer who doesn't have to listen to Third Division managers'. I think we went balls out for the Luton full backs Justin/Stacey and had no back up. Whether that's Jones fault or not is a different story.

For some reason, Nathan is a good fit at Luton. But with us he was a disaster. Glad heβs got his mojo back.

Credit where credit is due.
What a job heβs done to keep Luton up, something obviously works there for him (reminds me of Howe and Burnley)
He was still shit for us mind.

Fair play he's done a great job for them. Still the worst Stoke manager I'll hopefully ever have to see.

This could be a similar story to Howe at Bournemouth. Left them for bigger better things after doing well initially didn't work out returned and carried on where he stopped

i said as soon as he came to us that I thought he would struggle dealing with the "bigger" players, that he probably hadn't come across that type as a player or a coach, being able to motivate a young hungry player is a completely different challenge to motivating a guy that's played for a champions league team and earns 50 grand a week, clearly he knows how to do the former and not the latter

Credit where credit is due. What a job heβs done to keep Luton up, something obviously works there for him (reminds me of Howe and Burnley) He was still shit for us mind. Sometimes a manager is just effective for a certain club. It might be the relationship with the people in charge, or it could be intangible factors. Moyes at Everton comes to mind. It looks like Luton and Jones have that compatibility. I suspect that the same is true for Dyche and Burnley, and if he leaves as has been speculated, he won't be able to replicate his success.

Well done Nathan I know he was a disaster but I still like the guy Why? Because he genuinely believed in what he says. No effort spared Obviously completely bonkers (like that though) Firm believer that some managers fit certain clubs and don't fit others

Well done Nathan I know he was a disaster but I still like the guy Same with me. He failed because he was a shit manager, but you could tell how much he wanted to do well here. Compare that to the end of Hughesβ reign and his βwho else you going to get?β quote.

I have nothing against Jones personally, but his performance here was so atrocious he did not deserve the happy ending he's enjoying right now. I chalk it down to our universe being godless, which is truly ironic.
