I don't think joking about dementia is appropriate, when said and done. Who knows what the future holds? Who's mum ? it isn't him is it ? my father had dementia for many years before he passed, sometimes you have to have a sense of humour about this illness to get through it. It's a fucking horrible, frightening illness and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Let's hope they make inroads with a cure sometime soon.

My dad eventually passed with sepsis, we moved him next door to us when the illness started to take full effect, we were able to keep him safe and relatively comfortable for his last five years, it's like losing someone you love twice as you say it's a vile disease and support is very sporadic and not easy to source, thankfully I was in a position where I could work part time in order to provide the care he needed.

There were times when I wished I was, watching a once proud soldier and proper gentleman lose all his dignity in that way is fucking heart breaking mate, I don't mind admitting it broke me I am not sure I will ever really get over it, in the end it was a blessing in a way he went very quickly after contracting sepsis, as I said before you really need to have a sense of humour when dealing with dementia or it could send you insane, would I do it again hell yes anyone dealing with this vile disease patient or carer God bless you.

Currently going though it myself. Had to move back in with my parents to help my Mum look after my old man. He's 82 and a two back years back, during his treatment for a bout of cancer (which he thankfully got through), he was diagnosed with Parkinson's which has now turned into Parkinson's with Lewy body dementia. It's fucking scary.

You come onto this thread ripping the piss out of someone else's mum. A lady who you've never met, but who's elderly and ill and frail. You know all this but you rip the piss out of her anyway. When it's pointed out to you that this isn't a particularly classy thing to do, you simply announce that it's important to have a laugh about this awful disease (at the sufferer's expense in this case) in order to cope. Not everyone may share your coping methods of course. But no matter. Everyone has to on this board. It's your way or the high way. Classic narcissism. Then, you deflect from your actions in the default narcissistic way - by playing the victim card. Suddenly it's not about **************'s mum anymore, a frail stranger who you insulted for no reason. Oh no. Now it's about you isn't it. All about you and how difficult it was for you. How you hated it but like a real trooper, you'd do it all again. What a hero you are carps. This kind of crap works on people like felonious. They're thick as shit. And they're so blinded by their irrational hatred of ************** that they'll support any old nasty post(er) that they think might cause him hurt. Doesn't work on me though. I'll call it whenever I see it. You're fucking vile pal.

I'd love to get him onboard mate, but vokesy tells me he was banned. Something to do with double standards in the moderation on here. Is that so? đ Perhaps that's why you're more prominent now, starting threads in his style and so on? Before, you only made the occasional appearance (after I quizzed your main account as to your whereabouts), but I guess we'll be seeing more of you now that the other sock puppet is banned. Anyway, get those beer cans picked up, I'd hate for you not to be hitting your targets đ "Anyway, get those beer cans picked up, I'd hate for you not to be hitting your targets" A brilliant line within its context

Sticking my neck out here but; The guy has obviously got problems. Dancing on his grave isnât going to help him. I donât have a clue of his identity on here. You'd think not wouldn't you Ray but then unfortunately this is often quite an unfriendly board for people who hold different opinions to the accepted norm Funny thing is, the man himself is probably nowhere near it these days

Drink drivers are complete scumbags, that's my only take on this. That they are. Having lost a very close friend to a drink driver some years back I'd have them heavily fined, jailed for ten years and then, upon release, banned from driving for life.

Apologies for having a life in the outside world I'm totally opposed to drink driving and condemn it entirely. I condemn anyone who does it too, with the possible caveat that I suspect an awful lot of people have done it inadvertently the morning after at least once. Not to excuse that, just saying. Regardless it's socially irresponsible and deserves a lengthy ban etc

I remember, me and my mate Dogshit Pete were on the Police SPACE Scheme in Hanley in the 80s watching Police Academy 2 or similar, in the ABC Cimena. A rumour went round that the one and only SPANKO was in the audience, an older boy from the other end of the city who was rumoured to be a expert at snogging with Police Women despite only being 17.
Well, a police woman went past as it was getting quite rowdy and the lad next to us said something to her, we didn't quite make it out as it was said half whispered but we think we caught the word 'suspenders'. Anyway the Policewoman sort of swiped him on the head and said "oh you" and walked off going red and smiling.
Of course we were massively impressed, and turned to him an said, 'nice work mate, youre obviously a fan of SPANKO'
He turned his head towards us very slowly and said in all earnest -"Lads. I AM Spanko".
Well we were of course flabbergasted and in awe of the Spanko legend. We sat there beaming for the rest of the film
We told all our mates that we had met Spanko over the next two weeks and basked in his reflective glory, tried his techniques at the Youth Club etc etc.
Until of course, a very similar thing happened the week after in the Odeon Hanley as we were watching "Boys in Blue " featuring Cannon and Ball. "Lads. I AM SPANKO" said by a totally different (yet equally flirtatious and deapan) slightly older boy to a ST Johns Ambulance woman who was attending some of the screaming teenage girls who had screamed so much at Cannon and Ball that they had passed out.
I think a version of the Spanko legend is happening here. Throw in a few italics, sprinkle a couple of 'fellas' here and there judiciously, and any fucking poster can be the man himself, and instantly write himself into c*********y lore
