Do you reckon this could help us?
The fact that if the premiership aren’t bothering with FFP the Championship might not either.

Do you reckon this could help us? The fact that if the premiership aren’t bothering with FFP the Championship might not either. It'll be interesting to see what happens as a result of this. Are they still guilty as charged but have been given a smaller punishment, or have they been cleared of the main charge and are now being punished with a fine for a lesser offence?

It surely now just leads to the most obvious of obvious questions about FFP.
What is the point of it all?
Fit and proper persons test doesn't work and never has. FFP can now be bypassed at the highest level with a relatively small fine. Seriously, what's the point of it all?

Good for them. If their name was Rochdale or something, they would have been docked twenty points and had a transfer ban for three years, as well as made to play wearing tutus. It’s a rich man’s game.

Dirty Cash. 10 million quid is a joke. If they were innocent there should be no fine at all. Still compared to Real Madrid and their dubious finances it's no real surprise. No pun intended. Football at the highest level is corrupt to fuck. Remember Blatter?

So they've been cleared of the original charge (disguising funds as sponsorship contributions) and have been fined for failing to cooperate with UEFA authorities during the original investigation.
As far as FFP is concerned, they haven't done anything wrong.
I wonder where this leaves the Premiership investigation?

The football league seem to go the other way, they seem like they really want to clamp down and make clubs more equal and using ffp to do just that where by the PL just see it as a token rule not to be followed.

Perversely, I wonder if this boosts Wigan's chances of appealing their administration charge? I appreciate it is a totally different scenario in a totally different league with completely different circumstances but just wonder if this will trigger a general amount of leniency across the board?

SKY BREAKING: Citeh ban dropped, 10 million euro fine instead. 10million, bet they're gutted, could've got Tom Ince for that. In fact a better punishment would have been forcing them to take Tom Ince and play him instead of Sterling for the whole of next year's Champions League campaign!

I haven’t seen the details of the charges but without knowing the facts the outcome was completely predictable.
Completely spineless organisation. Man City would have probably been given a bigger punishment for not playing the Champions League theme tune pre-kick off or for advertising a product that wasn’t on UEFA’s official list.......

UEFA are basically toothless now, as any FFP penalties they levy will just be automatically appealed to CAS - may as well go there in the first place.
And if the penalty for not cooperating (read - trying to hide stuff) is just a fine then everyone will do it.
Finally, why not cooperate if you've got nothing to hide .....

We have the most expensive squad in the Championship! If you mean in terms of breaking into the top 4 of the Prem (i.e. THAT monopoly), then it'll be a fuck of a long time before we get close to that and that most definitely isn't because of anything to do with FFP.

It isn't UEFA that have over turned it but the CAS, UEFA had banned then

If you have limited playing time for a competition then you have limited club slots! Why not keep sponsorship monies up by having the same famous European clubs compete for the trophy every year?

And if the penalty for not cooperating (read - trying to hide stuff) is just a fine then everyone will do it. Finally, why not cooperate if you've got nothing to hide ..... FPP was brought in by uefa to protect the big clubs. Man City basically circumvented it as hard as they could and got caught. UEFA were judge jury and executioner but CAS saw through that and had them on lesser grounds. The big European clubs dont want newly rich clubs upsetting their status quo No love for Man City but I couldnt give a fuck about the other big clubs either. UEFA will have to kill or amend this absurd rule now or get their own house in order on how they run fpp
