He didn't do anything the average keeper wouldn't have done.
And on that basis he certainly gets to keep the shirt.
Basic catches, yes. But you just know Butland fumbles a few of them.

He would deserve to keep his place and be given his chance, not much to do but his distribution was better than Butlands

From now till season end. Let’s have a good look if he’s going to be our No 1 next year. Which I suspect he is

Yes.Davies needs a run to show what he can do. Butland needs to be kept on the bench for the rest of the season. Hopefully it will get the right reaction from him.

Definitely. A few moments of communication issues but a lot more solid overall. Yes, there were a few communication issues. But he and the defenders have the excuse that he will be a bit rusty and he hasn't played many (if any) competitive games with this defence - I'm sure that the back 5 will have learned lessons from today and will only get better if Davies continues in goal. Butland, on the other hand, makes more mistakes and doesn't have the excuses that Davies had today. Also, apart from one poor kick, his kicking was a big improvement on what we have seen from Butland - and a couple of times he managed to throw the ball out to the full back to start an attack much quicker than Butland manages to do. MUST keep his place. If he doesn't, I would have to assume that Butland was being kept in the shop window - but, to my mind, our survival in this division is far more important than the few £million we can hope to get for Butland - if we are lucky.

Nice to see a goalkeeper that can kick the ball Yes that was particularly noticeable, wasn't it? Also distributed the ball quickly in the first half and got our attacks going, rather than wait for everyone to get back then kick it out of play.

A great show from Adam Davies. Birmingham did not really test him today, but he did not show any nerves. Good positioning, great to see a Stoke goalie that can kick a ball to another Stoke player. Good distribution from throws. Commands his area, good clearances. Davies deserves a good run out in the team, he will come up against stiffer competition than Birmingham but there is a bit of confidence back in our defence. I really do hope that MON gives him another run out. I can understand the club wanting to put Jack in the shop window but on recent performances they would be better off keeping him in the shed down at the training ground, out of site... Jack will get his wish and move on. Stoke will bank a few quid and so will Birmingham from his sale.

It was a steady, competent display of goalkeeping on a quiet afternoon.
Which instantly made it the best goalkeeping performance I've seen from a Stoke keeper all season.

Thought his distribution was solid and given how long he's been out his handling was solid.
The only concern I have with him is crosses and command of his area. Unlike Butland he tries to come and claim stuff but he just doesn't have the physicality. The foul in the first half where he dropped it wasn't a foul. It was a mistake and the performance at Brentford in the cup showed his aerial weakness also.
In the short term yes he stays in but long term we need two new keepers.

So very sorry for Jack, but he's lost it. Don't know why, he really was top class, then he just went downhill. We owe you a lots, Jack, you really were up amongst some of Stoke's best and O will never bad mouth you, but Davis is now my first choice.

Don't want to see Butland in a Stoke shirt again. His stats this season are absolutely horrendous and back up everything we've seen with our own eyes about how many preventable goals he's been fully or partially responsible for. Unless he drops bollocks in the next two games he has to keep his place.

His body language was ten times better than Butlands who looks like he doesn’t want to be here. He’s also very quick to blame his defenders.

Yes I think he’ll play the last 3 games. We’ve seen the last of Butland in a Stoke shirt hopefully. Some bottom half PL team will take a punt on him I’m sure, or he’ll bugger off abroad like he’s said he wants to. It’ll do him good.

Keep him in then look at it at the end of the season. I'd give Jack away to be honest. Get him off the wage bill and if we build loads of clauses into the transfer we may get something back.
I'm not sure how high is stock still is
