Didn't have much to do, but what he did do, he did well.
No reason to drop him.

I don't see why not, not overly tested but looked calm and composed massive difference to how butland usually looks

Damn right his confidence and ability to come off his line fed into the confidence of the defence

Till the end of the season, for sure (I'm not expecting Jack to be here next season anyhow)

Yep. It's like we have Alexander Armstrong crossed with Andy Robertson in goal.

I'd say it's in his hands. Stay solid and why would you give it Back to Jack (copyright Amy Winehouse)

More than happy if he did. Although he didn’t have many proper shots to save, he did the basics so well with punching, catching and cutting out crosses. He also looked confident to come to the edge of his box. Miles better than Butland who I don’t think would have taken half of those crosses Davies did and I reckon at least one would’ve resulted in a goal.

Nice to see a goalkeeper that can kick the ball

Definitely.
A few moments of communication issues but a lot more solid overall.

That punch off the corner was ace. Went 30 yards.

Damn right his confidence and ability to come off his line fed into the confidence of the defence He made a very decisive punch clearance from a corner second half, Butland would have stayed rooted to his line. I felt more confidence sat on my settee so I can only imagine how more comfortable the back four felt today.

The difference not having Butland in goal is absolutely massive
We looked more composed all over the pitch, could play higher because our keeper would actually control his box.
I reckon a new number one could massively change our fortunes next season

Yes...but he had nowt to do and some of the superlatives I've seen about his performance already are ridiculous.
He had absolutely nothing to do of any note. His kicking off the floor was much better than out of hand, he spilled a corner and was lucky to get a foul and he grabbed an easy one at 2nd attempt early 1st half.
He was calm which was good, communicated clearly which probably helped the back 4 a bit.

Of course. Did nowt wrong, commanded the box well, good positioning, kicking no worse than Butland

Absolutely he does.
He had little to do. But he co-ordinated the defence well and was alert to the danger. Very safe looking display. It rubbed off on the defence too.

He got down amongst the boots, punched the ball clear and came to the edge of the box to claim the ball,
He is far superior to butland, who should have been got rid of when we were relugated

If I was O’Neill I would play him in the last 3 games simply to find out if we need to invest in a new first choice goalkeeper for next season.

Yes. Didn’t have too much to do, but he did looked competent. Nice to see a keeper come out gather and rage control. If he stays in, we’ll get a better idea of his level. For that reason I think MON will now use that to makes decision because I think Jack is now Stoke City history.
