I can speak from first hand experience that Reach are not a pleasant company to work for and it's hard to see the Sentinel thriving under their lead.

He was 100% job sharing a few weeks back. Maybe he’s taken early retirement?

That's what I was thinking. If he has gone then definitely a bit odd that there wasn't an announcement. But nothing. Not even a raging tweet from Spinks telling them to stick it.

shame all these things are taken over by corporates with no local empathy , changing times for sure but hopefully some local media can emerge from the current carnage Beeb has cut a few locals too sadly .

Very sad if he's a gonna.
Another 3 million of us about to go this way when furlough ends in October if forecasts are to be believed.
This covid was sent from hell, well China anyway, and it has damned us from here to eternity.

Seems odd he's gone and the others are still there considering he's been there the longest. I wonder if he's taken a pay off.

Not sure all the jokes and snide remarks about perceived bias are appropriate when an ordinary bloke loses their job. He's not a millionaire football coach, or a member of the recruitment team who was a detriment to the club. Just an ordinary bloke working for a local newspaper who has left his job during a recession.

Only an attention seeking clown as yourself could write this Why? We’ve been awfully run for 5 years now and journalists and fans alike have let them get away with it with mutual back slapping and not wanting to see issues that have been there. You don’t think a local paper should be there to keep a club in check? Our lot have got away with murder.

The media seem to think they have to maintain a good relationship with the club. It’s a dangerous business for reporters to rock the boat too much, or be too critical of the club. Ask Nigel Gleghorn or Mick Cullerton or John Acres for that matter. They all seemed to do a pretty good job of tellIng it as they saw it, and then were quietly moved on

I always liked Spinks and rated his reports, he could be a bit generous with his player marks sometimes but so what
It’s a shame to see so many hard working decent folks out of work as many companies use Covid-19 as the reason. Best of luck Spinksy
