Gods certainly building some team up there Banks Moore Charlton Ball. RIP Big Jack. And Martin Peters. That's six of the World Cup winning team we've lost now (Ray Wilson is the other one). RIP Jack.

RIP Big Man
As well as a great of the game much respect to Jack for always making the effort to attend the funerals of Stoke City legends despite in later years his own failing health and frailties, Saw him at Gordonโs funeral last year.

RIP Big Jack. He was being interviewed on TV and he described himself as a World Champion. Can't argue with that. Met him at Westlowe Mere fishing, approachable and a good fisherman He is to Leeds what Dennis Smith is to us. Rest in Peace Jack Charlton. World Cup Winner 1966. A proper legend on and off the pitch.

Rest in Peace Big Jack
Sadly we are in an era where we are rapidly going to say goodbye to the 1966 heroes.
As PP said he's up there with Banks, Moore, Ball, Peters and Wilson now

Deepest condolences to his loved ones.
Another legend who gave 100% to whatever he did. A huge character who had what it takes to win a world cup. Revie and Ramsay stuck with him without fail. They knew his value to a team.

Great player and a great bloke. As someone else has said above... a true working class hero. But that can be said of many from the North East who went on to make great footballers. As a person, I always preferred Jack to Bobby even though Bobby became the most famous of the two. Such a shame him and Bobby didn't get on too well, but that's because Bobby became a toff in the footballing world and Jack always kept his working class feet on the ground. I reckon Smithy and Bluto will be sad today. They were made of the same stuff.
RIP Big Man.
OS doffs flat cap.
