It’s not Wigan who will be appealing it’s the administrators that are now in control. Of course they can appeal

I’m not sure they can appeal Pretty sure they can and a very good chance of winning it On what basis, the club was purchased in June 2020, 5 weeks ago they knew about covid, they knew how much money they had and that they would play behind closed doors. So in 5 weeks they go from purchase into administration and they didnt see the issues....

It’s not Wigan who will be appealing it’s the administrators that are now in control. That’s basically the same thing. They will almost certainly appeal, arguing that the Covid epidemic entitles them to do that under the “force majeure” clause. There are some other clubs in financial trouble, so it is possible that the League could decide not to deduct points in this situation, this season. We have to win games, and are not looking capable of it up to now. Let’s hope that the manager can pull another rabbit out of the hat like he did on his arrival. Can’t say I’m feeling confident.

I don’t see us getting 7 points. After the last two team selections my faith in the manager has gone down hill drastically, and the performance of them gutless tossers is there for all to see. We will be lucky get 5 points. Please prove me wrong stoke

There looks as though something very dodgy has gone on on with that sale just prior to administration. Hopefully it will now be investigated.

Exactly how on earth can the club be sold 5 weeks ago and they go into administration on the 1st July and then appeal claiming covid was the reason its dodgy in the extreme.

MON said he reminded them after Tuesday what it would mean for them financially as players if they were relegated. Let’s hope that’s enough to put a rocket up their arses. It’s not gonna add any skill to our squad though is it. That’s the problem You'd like to think the players don't need reminding of that really wouldn't you. My neck is hurting from all the head shaking I have been doing because of that lot.

Personally it's got to take one if not two crazy results vs one/two of Bristol, Leeds , Brentford and Forest (chuckle) for us to stay up. Doubt we'll get three points against Bham either, and Barnsley is obvs no certainty. Fuck this fucking shower.

I reckon we need 7 more points to be safe...win on saturday we could leap frog 3 teams...saturday is the biggest match the club has ever had, a must win! Win against Birmingham too and hopefully pick up 1 more point somewhere and i reckon it will be leeds I still think we will be okay What do ye think I think you need to logically assess: Do our strikers have the ability to score more goals than our opposition ? Does our defence have the ability to stop our opposition scoring more goals than us? Does our current squad have the character or ability to move clear of the relegation zone? The honest answers to these questions will enable you to see that we are already a Division one Football Club.

Pretty sure they can and a very good chance of winning it Please explain your reasoning? As I understand it the Wigan penalty only kicks in this season IF it relegates them. Currently they are 9 points above the drop - they therefore only have to improve by 4 points (or 3 if they can stay up on goal difference) in 6 games. That is eminently do-able. The idea that Wigan will "save us" (assuming we can manage at least 22nd) is therefore no more than 50/50 at best.

Please explain your reasoning? How did they pass the test? Covid 19? They owe 9 million and will probaly only have to pay back 5% after admin. No points deduction means they win ,creditors lose and anyone else in trouble will jump on the covid wagon and all become debt free .

Reports now saying that the owners have them backed to go down over in asia somewhere...they will 100%not get a points deduction

It's the same for all clubs though surely, you can't suddenly start making exceptions.

We can pretty much write off the Leeds and Brentford games so we realistically need to take points from all the others. Going to be a big ask, I can honestly see us surviving but only as a result of Wigan’s points deduction. Wigan are going to win there appeal On what grounds?

As we’ve seen all season any body can beat anybody. If the players some how grow a backbone it’s not over and game on. However it’s probably the biggest IF in the history of mankind!!!

Wins against Barnsley and Birmingham plus a draw somewhere.
No margins. A bit of luck. Our chance. ⚽✌️

Think there is absolutely nothing as fans now that any of us can do other than worry! It’s down to the manager and players now alone..... We can’t affect anything other than wish for a positive outcome! Nightmare! I think that is what is killing me at the moment - the fact that, as a fan, I can literally do nothing! We are not at the ground to sing our hearts out (or air our frustrations), so it really is just down to the players ...

I'm clinging to the hope of wins against Barnsley, Brum and Brizzle, who are a bit shit too That'd do it. I've written off Leeds and Brentford. Forest? Who knows? Hopefully it'll be meaningless for them by that point. I think we’ll beat one of the teams we are not expecting to and lose the others. 3 or 4 more points at most. Either way I don’t see us staying up.

Wigan might save us Jesus!!!! Looking at Wigan's fixtures they may well stay up with the deduction. Going into administration looks like it could be a calculated risk, they are in shit hot form at the moment. It's strange how they went into administration the day after they beat us. If they stay up they will get a clean slate for next season and keep their players I'd imagine.

At least the torture only continues for 20 more days... Whatever happens it won’t be the end of it. If by some miracle we manage to stay up, We still have the worst squad in living memory and the restrictions of FFP when it comes to strengthening. If we go down, and that seems more likely, then we have a similar scenario to when we were relegated from the Premiership. A load of over priced, over paid players that no one will want to take off our hands who think they should be playing at a higher level. Even though they are shite. It just goes on. Ipswich and Sunderland have seen how difficult it is to get out of that downward spiral. There is talk of a significant wage cap being brought in for league 1 (£3.5k a week) The kit man at Stoke is probably on more than that.😁

Hope is one thing, but no reasonable person can look at other team's recent results and our recent performances and expect we stay up.
