Relegation will decimate this club and the area, let's pull no punches. It will be a disaster of epic proportions, we will rightly be the laughing stock of the entire footballing country and we will deserve everything we get.
However, it's clear that it is our best chance of a total clear out from the top down. If we stay up it will be more lip service and half measures.
There is no way you can fudge a relegation to the third tier - it's the baby out with the bathwater time.

Nixon said its doubtful it will happen and he is usually right and he said wigan have good chance of getting off too....not good I actually look at Wigan’s fixtures and hope they win them all. They play teams in and around us. We should then target Luton, Barnsley and Hull to finish above without thinking about Wigan’s points deduction Sad times

We’d struggle in league 1 next year as we’d be on a full team rebuilding program ,some of the teams down there have been together for a while, Crewe as an example

Nixon said its doubtful it will happen and he is usually right and he said wigan have good chance of getting off too....not good Hard to see on what grounds Wigan would get off. They have laid off 75 staff, stopped paying player wages and have no income. There is nothing about blame on the rules, it is a matter of fact they have filed for administration. Still not certain they will finish the season. They may get enough points anyway. We need to take control of our own fate

Probably suits us as they’ll still want to accumulate as much points as necessary.
Hopefully they’ll thump Uddersfield

theathletic.co.uk/1930889/2020/07/16/efl-championship-league-two-relegation-sheffield-wednesday-derby-macclesfield-stevenage/The Athletic has spoken to several of Wednesday’s Championship rivals and they have all said they believe that, if the panel finds against them, the South Yorkshire side should get a bigger sanction than Birmingham City received for overspending in 2019. “If Birmingham got nine points for a marginal breach, Sheffield Wednesday must get at least 12 points,” said one Championship club director this week, while the chief executive of another club claimed “anything less than 21 points will be a travesty”.
Points are deducted on a sliding scale up to a total of 12 depending on how great the overspending is but a further nine points can be taken away if the panel believes the breach is “aggravated” by an attempt to conceal or mislead. A 12-point penalty would drop Wednesday to 44 points, just one point above Barnsley and three from safety, with games against fourth-placed Fulham and fellow strugglers Middlesbrough to come. The real concern, though, is whatever the panel decides — and a verdict is expected before Garry Monk’s team play again on Saturday — there will be an appeal. If Wednesday are in the bottom three after the season-ending Middlesbrough game, they will almost certainly appeal but if they avoid relegation, the three teams in the drop zone will threaten to sue the league unless it appeals in an attempt to get a bigger deduction

The Board were just waiting for all the other clubs points deductions. Genius, three more weeks of this and we’re in the play offs.

At this rate Barnsley might go up Wigan for promotion and relegation, at least, I think that’s what the owners bet was!

So how does everyone think we’ll do in the playoffs? Judging by all these potential points deductions I’d start prepping our premier league transfer list.

Maybe the EFL are chickening out announcing until they see the final table.....less chance of legal action?

Maybe the EFL are chickening out announcing until they see the final table.....less chance of legal action? Pretty sure that will happen anyway - from SW if they do go down, and from any of the relegated clubs if they don't.

We're fine as it is without wishing point deduction on teams. Even without Wigan's deductions we'll be more than ok. Am already on the beach and be watching the Brentford game in my Hello Kitty flip flops
