The worst happen. Well, it has been one monumental feck up. Pre COVID we were one of the form teams. Players were beginning to hit their stride: Clucas, Allen, Campbell, Powell, McClean, a little cameo from what looks like a bright young star in Oakley-Boothe and I even thought Batth was playing his best footie since arriving – possibly Smith also, and dare I say it even our goalkeeper was doing ok. We lost Allen and the rest have all come back out of sorts, out of form, out of shape and seem to have lost all interest and all of their confidence with it and what looks like their confidence in the manager too. Hard to see where the next goal/clean sheet is coming from. Anyway I have almost resigned myself to tier 3 footie once again and was trying to think of some positives should it happen - so here goes: The possibility we will be playing Crwho and the Vale – I know a lot don’t like the local Derbies but I love em and they are fairly rare occurrences. Could get trips to Wembley if we make play-offs or the B&M Bargains/Autoglass Trophy Blackpool and Fleetwood are close games for me That said I could easily be doing without those positives and will be praying for a miracle - As a supporter for nearly 50 years, I can tell you tier 3 footie is hard work and also a very difficult tier to get out of. Does anybody else have any morsels of positivity should we make, what looks like, the inevitable drop

Michael O'Neill is still a definite positive for me if he stays.

We'll probably never have to see Butland, Ince and many other wear a Stoke shirt again.

Michael O'Neill is still a definite positive for me if he stays. They need to seriously back him in public that they want him to keep him because they beleive he'll sort out the dressing room and he'll still be here if we get relegated. If we get relegated he's got 2 seasons to get us back up. That would put the shitters up the useless bastards.

Surely to God they’ve got to have a proper and thorough into how the club is run? That’s very hopeful, we got relegated and have missed out on hundreds of millions in revenue and they’ve still got their heads buried in the sand where the higher up running of the club is concerned

the positives we should take is due to no fault of there own there will be plenty of players looking for clubs due to there clubs going into administration, so lets try get in early and take the best, we should look for pacy players, instead of old players looking for a last pay day, my message to our shower of wankers would be if you dont want to try in the red and white shirt then fuck off we deserve better,

Surely to God they’ve got to have a proper and thorough into how the club is run? Can't really see how the owners can stay on if we get relegated. Didn't they leave last time they guided us to tier 3. It is a shame they have not been able to get the right people in to run the club as they are, otherwise, fantastic owners. That said their managerial choices are utterly bizarre and seem to lack any footballing logic/common sense - and their xenophobia has also cost us.

No positives whatsoever in watching league one football!! Absolutely none!! I’m not sure who remembers it last time but it was appalling. We can all say it’s about the day out blah blah but I love me footy, watching that shit isn’t football for me. If I want a day out I’ll go Manchester etc with the lads.

The only thing that comes remotely close to a positive is on a personal level, that I've only been to Burton out of the lot so any other away ground will be a new one for me.

They're proposing a wage cap of £3.5k per week per player. So if you want your deadwood out.....?
The other positive is while everyone else has to watch their teams play in empty stadia, Leagues 1 and 2 thought fuck that and voted to just finish the season. Which was a blessing for us Ipswich fans, considering the shit Lambert had us swallowing from January to March.

Before the shutdown I would have said yes, but these three games have just shown what a lack of will and ambition these players have, it's hard to see how we can be better next season when the players seem to lack any desire. His management has also been really suspect, I know we have e a lot of games but you would have thought we would go all out to get points on the board from these early winnable games, instead we have had real timidity and have paid the price.

Yes, the season in division 1 will probably not kick off this year so I can go back to doing enjoyable things on a Saturday afternoon and possibly even get a refund on my early bird season ticket. I was really looking forward to the restart but these matches have reminded me that even lock down and having to stay in the house except for a dog walk was far more enjoyable than the last two Saturdays.
