BBC RM Sport @bbcrmsport Wigan Athletic have gone into administration.
Paul Stanley, Gerald Krasner and Dean Watson of Begbies Traynor have been appointed as joint administrators.
They say they are seeking interested parties in order to rescue the club.

This has probably been the one saving grace of the Coates family in the past 3 years, we are not fucking skint, just absolutely useless.
Can they defer any deduction? Also, this is probably going to be the first of many in the next few months.

Credit to their players for how they performed last night if they knew this was coming.

12 point deduction for going into administration.
Very sad to this happening to clubs, could well be the first of many over the coming months.

Would put them on 40 same as Luton Just checking the EFL rules its 12 points... 12.3.5 For the avoidance of doubt, where a Club and/or Group Undertaking is subject to more than one of the procedures in Regulation 12.3.1 above during a process of compromising creditors (for example Administration followed by a Company Voluntary Arrangement), the Club shall only be deducted one set of 12 points, such deduction to apply with effect from the first Insolvency Event. 12.3.6 If:

That takes Wigan straight to the bottom of the league then, though obviously might not apply straight away, could be a bit yet.
A possibility that, by default, we have been spared. What plan does God have for our club?

For those unaware how it works in regards points deduction
It all waits until the end of the season....if they get relegated automatically it’s next season but if they don’t they’ll come off this seasons
That’s because Leeds abused it the season we got promoted so they changed the rules

It helps I suppose but staying up (maybe) on the back of another clubs administartion makes me feel abit 'meh', part of me thinks our players deserve all they get but its them that'll fuck off while the fans suffer in league 1.

Pretty much so yeah Although the league have the powers to start it from next season which will probably happen if the deduction doesn’t relegate them this
