It won't matter a jot what 11 he puts out. We will still have 4/5 or even 6 poor players on the pitch at the same time. If MBI, Chester, Ince, Thomson, Vokes, Gregory, Ward and Clucas are anywhere near the 11 v Barnsley we are fucked. I’d add Butland to that list, and Collins (at right back), in fact I’d struggle to pick any of those who started v Wigan.

I don't really know where to start now. The 6 changes last night have made things a little less clear than we thought. Where do you go from here in certain positions?
I'm still convinced our best option is to play the front four that worked so well at Huddersfield and stick to it:
Campbell Powell McClean
...............Vokes................
From there it's a case of filling in the rest of your side behind it with as much pace and power as we can get, but even then it is still filled with holes.
Goalkeeper I'd pick Davies now. Butland has gone and last night was a virtual re-run of the Leicester debacle in the PL relegation season.
Back four - Smith Shawcross Collins Tymon (Christ, what left back situation?)
I can't pick Ward, I couldn't pick Bruno and Clucas who I touted for that position, after last night wouldn't play again.
Midfield i'd have to go with Cousins and Sorensen. Thompson isn't ready, Clucas has acted himself out of a place and that doesn't really leave a lot. Sorensen lacks raw physicality but has good pace and movement. Even he isn't ready in fairness but needs must. Both he and Cousins had the best stats for sprints and running power over the break and maybe that will be enough to get us over the line? They both seem to have a good attitude, which is a start I suppose.
Davies
Smith Shawcross Collins Tymon
...........Sorensen Cousins.........
Campbell.......Powell......McClean
..................Vokes....................
Christ on a Unicycle.

Somethings got to give- is Powell even back for Barnsley? If so then would be tempted to go with the above, Tymon at left back can't possibly be any worse than Martins-Indi or Ward as even if he makes a mistake he has some pace at least (or maybe not if he has had his snout in the pig trough during lock down/equally uninterested as 60/70% of the squad seem in our plight). What an utter utter disgrace this situation is and the players should hang their heads in shame at the laughing stock they have become.

As much as this is a must win, it is very much a must not lose, which is eminently possible given the chaos and disorder at the back. I'm not normally one for this sort of thing, but a robust 4-4-1-1 with an unsubtle but organised game plan seems to be a good strategy.
Butland
Edwards Shawcross Collins Indi
Diouf Cousins Clucas McClean
Vokes
Campbell
If Vokes isn't up to the physical demands of the Mama role when we don't have the ball then he can be swapped for Gregory.
The back eight are all there to defend and possibly break away with the ball. If they have possession of the ball on the halfway line, something is badly wrong. McClean and Diouf are there for their stamina and willingness to support their full back. That should go some way to dealing with our hapless defence and invisible midfield.
When we have the ball, the first job is to find Ryan, who is our best long passer. He then picks out Vokes, who plays Campbell into the channels. If the ball gets to the full backs, their first thought should be to get it to Vokes. If it gets to the full backs, their first touch should be a big boot up to Vokes.
If they make a complete mess of it, he can always bring Powell on.

Davies Chester Shawcross Batth Smith Clucas Oakley-Boothe McClean Powell Diouf Campbell Not sure about Shawcross so wouldn’t mind Collins in his place. Butland isn’t good enough for this division and Ince isn’t what you need in a battle. Ince isn’t what you need in a battle.Ince isn’t what you need in a football team.

Problem we've got is Barnsley's must be fucking buzzing right now. A bunch of humble lads on comparably low salaries who were resigned to league 1 and anything else is a bonus. They are now on the brink of one of the most astonishing achievements in championship history.
Meanwhile, our bunch of useless, overpaid jerks are on the brink of the biggest calamity in championship history. The most expensive side to ever be relegated to league one? Must be.

Considering how toothless in attack we are and the fact that our defence seems to crumble every time a team attacks us I don't think Barnsley will hesitate to attack us from the off after last night's shit show I can't see how we turn it around and stay up irrespective of however many changes MON can make in true NJ fashion.

I just wish the crowd could be there it would have made a massive difference against Boro and more so re Barnsley?
I bet the manager wishes the crowd were their as it’s totally in there hands and we are powerless 🙁.
