You know the end times are close when this is a thread title.
Absolutely right though.

If we survive it will because there are actually 3 worse teams than us
But I don't see it
Deja vu all over again

Been a while since I've heard Nige like that. And rightly so.
It's dumbfounding.
I've gone from thinking there was a 5% chance of going down on Saturday morning, and looking forward to seeing us play out the season with optimism - then about a 35% chance after the Boro game with the manner of our defeat and other results.
And now I think we're pretty much gone. That was as bad as anything under Jones.

Looks like we may well finish the season as we started it - a couple of points from 9 games and rock bottom as a result.

Have to say enjoyed radio stoke's new commentary set up during lockdown.
Nigel Johbson is better giving views as a co-commentator rather then being the main commentator. And Pete Smith was excellent too.

Martin O’Neills’s comments about behind the playing staff’s attitude leaves me fearing the worst. The irony of Nathan Jones and Gary Rowett’s teams finishing above Stoke is not lost on me. I’m thinking that Stoke should pay off (that’s how you get rid of) the dead wood and take the consequences - However bad they are. Some of these players’s performances and ability beggars belief. No manager can work with damaged goods ad Infinitum. My head says relegation but my heart says fourth bottom. Whatever happens I will be there as a season ticket holder next season, not for us the glory just supporting the club through thin, thinner and thinnest. UTP

I wouldn’t worry about what Martin O’Neill thinks because he isn’t the manager. He might be next week 😳 Don't bloody joke about it Regardless what happens, O'Neill (Michael!) must remain in charge. We cannot keep chopping and changing. We'll become the poison chalice we never thought we'd be. We're heading that way as it is. We're either tasking O'Neill with championship consolidation next season for the rebuild or a L1 promotion push. Whichever, he needs our full backing. And it needs to be of a full root and branch modernisation of this stuck in the 90's football club.

That is going to happen unless Coates leaves (modernisation) no way is that team anywhere near promotion quality and a few scottish and N.I players or clapped 35 years are not to solve the problem. we would take 2 at best perhaps 3 or 4 to come back if we keep going as we do. Our wage bill for a start must be staggering and with fair play rules etc proposed for League 1 we could be in real big trouble Remember when we went down last time to Div 3 we got soundly beat on a regular basis.
