Don't think it's any coincidence that without him we look lost at sea. Chronically under-rated on here for some time. And with him we got relegated and were not so long ago in the bottom three, he's as bad as the rest of them.

We won games without him when he was banned and dropped this season. Surely we can win 3 games from 9 without him? We are, however, missing his energy if nothing else. This gave me hope until I looked into the results after he was sent off against Bristol City Didn’t win any. Lost to Forest, drew against Brentford which is decent to be fair but also got knocked out of the cup by Crawley Looking at the stats I don’t think we have won games without him (lost plenty with him though) What about when he was dropped? Didn't we win away at Swansea without him?

Exactly Why people try to excuse him from the position we are currently in is, quite frankly, pathetic

Badly miss the Joe Allen that was coming back into form under MoN.

I don't think he has tbh, he has more drive than most but his passing ability is pretty average at best, he isn't much of a creator or much of a defensive player either, he's never really stood out in our side very often and given people keep saying he's the best player out of this sorry bunch he very rarely shows it if at all

and this is exactly why pinning our form on the absence of Joe Allen is flawed.
It’s much more complex and always has been, otherwise we’d never have been in this situation in the first place. For me our performances since the restart have been far more to do with the batshit crazy system MON was playing.

Different system and poor opponents also have abit to do with it mate Undoubtedly, and shit systems since he’s been absent will also have something to do with it as today has shown. We’ve been crap with Allen and without Allen. Which smacks of the issue being wider as most sensible people have said. End of the day, fantastic win today and a lot of that is because we reverted to pre lockdown formation and approach. That is how we should set up as a default.

I’d suggest that if Jordan Cousins can fill the gap suitably then you’re not missed in the slightest.
We need a DM to replace Allen desperately.

Funny how things end up. Even if we lose against Forest our PPG without Allen since lockdown will be better than our PPG with him.
As others posted on the first page, the bigger issue was MON fixing something that wasn’t broken and being punished for it.

Maybe have relaxed a lot today and hit the gin bottle a bit too much enjoying the afternoon scores on TV so when I saw the thread I was wondering why anyone would hate Aliens. They could be lovely little folk
Anyway have adjusted my eyes now

I'd say more steddy do a job eddie than shite tbh, don't particually want him starting next season but he's a good option as back up. Edit, I can't see anything but Allen starting when fit though unfortunately, who's going to want him after his injury not knowing if he's properly over it.

Joe Allen and James McClean will both be main stays of our team next season no matter how much folk on here think otherwise The one thing I hope we have learnt is that stability is everything. Jones tried to sign 11 new players and it added more shit to the mix, we have a good core, with some tweaks and upgrades we have a good team.

Has been since we signed him and we need someone that can actually protect the defence. Keeping Allen will be a mistake.......again.

Certainly do not think we will see 10 new additions under oneill. What a shame some of our players like etebo ndiaye dont want to be anywhere near the club
