Would be an absolute disaster for the Club obviously for so many reasons. But has anyone taken a close look at where we'd be travelling to ? Lincoln...Accrington and Rochdale to name a few. Even if we were doing well in League one would these really excite you and encourage you to travel away even if you could get a ticket due to small ground capacities and low allocations? Before I get slated I've followed Stoke City home and away for 40 years so i ain't a glory hunter who is missing the PL.

Some proper grounds in that league.
Would be about the only positive of going down, it’s been a while since I’ve stood on a terrace. Ninian Park in the promotion season to be precise.

I note your careful avoidance of the phrase "League one when it happens".

Fleetwood would be a new one for me: unless they get through the play-offs!

Having watched Stoke for 40 years can you think of a worse Stoke team Westland ? This lot would struggle in league 1. That’s what will stop people following Stoke, home and away.

The local media trying to hype the games up against Nonce FC as 'derby of the century' and 'Gary McGraham' pre-cumming when Nonce get a corner.
Was it really only five years ago we were scoring nine goals in consecutive home games against Spurs and Liverpool 😒

It will be wank, let's be honest, 100 times more wank than the Championship has been, after the Premier League.
But if it meant we got a massive root-and-branch breakdown and rebuild, I may be tempted.
Instead of spunking idiotic money on shit footballers, spend instead on filling the club with high-quality football people.
Pay-off your BMIs of the world, and create a 'Hall of Shame' at the Bet365 and stick the pricks in it.
Easy 😉

Easy 😉 We needed a root and branch when relegated from the premier league, what makes you think that it would be even remotely in their thinking if we drop again, also that hall of shame could blow the entire club budget, in a straight line it would be well past Longton and on it’s why to Blythe bridge.

I can’t wait to see Scholes efforts at selling tickets without acknowledging any culpability for Crewe , Lincoln and Accrington fixtures are home of course we know reported crowds will be 22k +

I dread how this bunch of bottlers will do in Div1. Then again, most of them are of a Div1 standard, so may do OK.

I wish we'd re-evaluate our strategy and do what Brentford are doing- looking at young players on the way up (with resale value), not the likes of Chris fucking Brunt.
I wouldn't expect the benefits of this to happen overnight, but if I could see a long term plan being put in place rather than the short-termism we have now, I could get behind that. Because I'm sick of watching the slowest team in the league.
Unfortunately, we have owners who won't think outside the box and are being made to look more and more behind the times with each passing day.

That is the crux of it isn’t it, almost every other side seem sharper, faster and dare I say it exciting. We on the other hand pass the ball around for fun, keeping possession but at a god almighty slow pace it’s almost like watching walking football. Inevitably we lose possession, give away silly set pieces and then watch time and time again Jack rooted to the spot as the ball hits the back of the net. To be honest it’s fucking boring to watch.

I saw a few people on Twitter yesterday saying “if we go down at least we’ll get a rebuild of the clubs structure, firstly there are no signs of this happening as John Coates said in his meet the fans night something along the lines of “we are a private company and we will not be employing a director of football” and secondly there’s going to be nothing fun about Accrington away on a Tuesday night.

We could always sit around and have a laugh while a club like Coventry are in a league above us with alleged rogue owners and no stadium to call home? Wouldn't that be fun in the car, on our way home from a Boxing Day clash at Accrington Stanley?

I was supremely confident of staying up 'til yesterday, and have been since MON arrived.
Now the prospect, all of a sudden, is frighteningly real and makes me feel a bit sick. Seeing how it unfolded was like flicking a switch - I went from completely unperturbed to shitting myself.
It really is nightmarish down there - nothing good about it at all.

What are the FFP rules in that league mate? I can't seem to find anything about them at all. Also, with the alleged wage cap, that would need some serious squad churn as the last thing we need in that shithouse league is a bunch of players with the hump because they've been forced to take a 90% hit on their wages.

You watch Leeds and Brentford and it's like they're playing a different game. In fact, watching Leeds v Fulham yesterday, I forgot that we are (currently) in the same division as them.

If they aren’t going to change it after relegation, the shitshow last year and the even worse display this season, why would they change it when we go down? Scholes says its FFP and I’ve no doubt it’s a claim shared by the rest of the board. Coates Jnr can talk about the Macari years even more because they’ll likely be very topical come next season unless we pull our finger out. They should see the amount of financial restructuring we’ll have to do if we do go down and they’d quickly rue their arrogance.

Going to some different grounds would be the only good thing about going down - some near me I've never been to before too. But the home games will be crap - big drop in attendance and tiny away followings - unless we do a '92/93 type season I suppose
I still think we will stay up though - hopefully yesterday will be as much of a wake up to call to the players and manager as it has to the fans

You go down because you deserve too! could not see us jumping back up unless there is a change of focus at the top. Ipswich found that out and Sunderland are still there. Think we would have an Alan Ball season and finish mid table. Hopefully a few rats will desert the sinking ship.

We'd inevitably get people telling us how we'd piss the league and get 100 points and all the rest of it, but I honestly think we'd struggle in League One at present. Not enough to go all the way to League Two, but I don't think we'd be any better than mid-table.
