I know I'm about to get slaughtered but they fucked this club the moment Paul Lambert walk through the door. A cheap ass appointment lacking in any ambition and cemented our relegation. Correct. An appointment compounded, certainly by the two following and, judging by his selection / game management in the last two fixtures, three managers. Not a popular opinion either, but I'd have had Colin in ahead of any or all of those at the time. Superb record where promo / relegation is concerned. Not a cat in hell's chance we'd be where we are now had he been one of the three. Let's just pray MoN reverts back to the manager we thought we'd got. It unfortunately looks that way.

The worry is the return the the same basic errors that we have seen for the past four years and in these past two games a real lack of urgency .
I thought that MON had reduced the errors a fair bit before the shut down and they did look a team .
Huge week coming up , need a tough gritty performance tomorrow

I know it's a shocking indictment of my memory, but what formation were we playing before lockdown if not 4-3-3? Was it not Allen and Clucas behind Powell, with McClean, Vokes/Ince and Campbell ahead of them? The system doesn't matter a whit if you have a comedy defence that turns every simple scenario into a goalscoring opportunity for your opponents. Our players get caught on the turn by every simple ball played behind them. More than once, they turned possession in our own half, shielding the ball out of play or a simple pass back into a gilt-edged chance. We were playing 4-2-3-1 the difference being Powell was a number 10 rather than the last 2 weeks when we have had 1 deep midfielder and 2 pushing on in theory. It means Powell has to play wide which negates his impact

50 points should be enough given teams have to play each other. We need to nearly match the teams below us, all but Luton have similar run ins to us. We have 2 winnable home games, Wigan away and 4 tough games but neither Forest or Bristol City are world beaters and hopefully Brentford will be relaxed when we play them. It is still all to play for

Paddy Power had odds on us, Barnsley and Charlton going down at 90/1. Well I think Barnsley are done and I can see that mad fucker pulling Luton out of it. Charlton have some tricky games and so do we.

Being as we have basic players and a manager who for the last two games developed Hughes rowett Jones fever. The time has come to go back to basics 4-4-2 Lump the ball into the opposition box be horrible, nasty ,snide and vile and fucking hold on and hope this roller coaster doesn’t derail. Just wondering how the manager talk goes when he has to tell To Mince to be “horrible, nasty, snide and vile”

It's annoying that if we do go down, the players who got us into this mess won't even face the wrath of the fans. They'll just walk off the pitch in silence. Probably just shrug, shower, drive off and get try getting a transfer somewhere else.

Doing that / looking at the fixtures is scary. S Granted I do feel like we couldn't buy a performance or, god forbid, a win currently, so a good deal of pessimism went into my scoring. Nevertheless, I have us gone with a week to go.

Still think a couple of wins and a draw will get us over the line. Despite some of our rivals raising their game, others are also faltering. Next two games are crucial. One draw and a win will leave us needing to beat Brum or Bristol at home to get to 50 points.

Two games ago we were fine and the manager was the doing a good job. Now we're doomed?!
Win the next two and we're fine again and so the cycle continues.

In the reverse fixtures of our last 7 games we picked up 7 points - scored 10 conceded 13 GD -3.
That would be enough to keep us up.

Ok tin hat on I'm a derby fan registered when you had that clown rowett as manager You have followed that up with two other managers who have struggled So I have now come to understand your fans posts now I believe their is a problem at your club that goes beyond the manager Look we have ffp problems here and the football league are looking to make a example of us however still in-between all the drama the football is good and our manager is finding his feet and our accadamy players are coming through and playing well and saving us money And a outside chance of playoffs I've been thinking Steve MC claren is out of a job he isn't a manager in my opinion but is a top coach maybe worth a shout When he was here played outstanding football

I wish commentators would stop saying " the unimaginable could happen".
The main priority when relegated from the Prem is to avoid going through the trap door to the 3rd tier. It is not unimaginable it has happened time and again to clubs like Wigan, Leeds, Blackburn, most recently Sunderland and others in the past
