Wonder how nello has coped during lockdown. Hopefully he is well. I guess this period would be especially difficult for him. Pass on our best wishes Malcolm Clarke. Thanks

I was worried at the start of lockdown because getting out and meeting people is what he's all about. But I underestimated him. His Keele friends have sorted out food and supplies and Neil has just stayed in ringing his "very good friends" , famous and not so famous, and they have rung him. For example, Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury has rung several times to check he's OK ! Nick Gleaves ( who played Rev Mark in the film) is another who keeps in touch. We have quite an amusing routine in our house. X rings Neil. X then rings me to tell me he/she has rung Neil and that he's OK. The Landline ( that's the clue) rings. We say - that'll be Neil to tell me that X has rung. And more often than not, it is.

Maybe the players should watch it and perhaps they would understand what the club means to the fans.

After the truly horrific last few months, and I’m not just talking about Stoke City here, it was a heartwarming watch
Toby Jones plays a wonderful part, what a wonderful actor he is. And the whole Neil Baldwin story makes you laugh and cry in equal measures. Lou Macari was without doubt a Stoke city legend in the making, if only Celtic didn’t knock.
Big shout to our own Malcolm Clarke, who took Nello under his wing and I have to say shows what an amazing person he is by being his rock especially when Neils mother passed.
Great film

Don't suppose many of the present players will have watched it! The useless, gutless fuckers should of been forced to sit down and watch it, to see how much the club means to all the supporters near and far. If that happened then maybe, just maybe, they would show some pride, at pulling in the shirt.

Once again, I found myself wiping a piece of grit that had mysteriously blown into my eye.
Uplifting, moving, funny. I have never met Neil, but I feel that, through Toby Jones, I have.
Life affirming. And if there is a better illustration of what it means to be be a Stokie, I have yet to experience it.

Just watching some of the footage of the likes of Kenwyne throwing himself at the ball broke my heart. When we had players who gave a shit and were wound up so much by the manager they would burst through the ceiling. Why isn’t Rory passing on that? Why isn’t Ryan insisting on hit. He was captain when that was happening and he’s captain now. What’s changed?

It's so good and even makes a cold blooded cynic's heart like mine melt.
Were the outside of the Vic shots filmed outside of Gresty Road?

Players are still on probably the highest wages in the Championship and a few still drawing PL league levels. That alone should motivate them to fight to stay up but it isn’t. There has to be player power in the dressing room that is encouraging others to join the don’t give a shit gang. I have my suspicion who it is but not accusing anybody openly. Just can’t understand the likes of Rory and Ryan not having more influence on these charlatans. This is by far the worst bunch of players I have witnessed at Stoke in nearly 60 years of following them.

Is it true in the Gordon Cowans testimonial that Nello had a great chance of scoring, but Tony Kelly ruined it for him
or, did i dream this ?

Is it true in the Gordon Cowans testimonial that Nello had a great chance of scoring, but Tony Kelly ruined it for him or, did i dream this ? I’ve read that a few times on here, yes. TK just didn’t get the ‘leave it to Nello’ memo. I loved Nello’s dry delivery in the interview cutaways... “Did it really happen like that?” after he buried that header. Nello: “No”
