This was just an awful, awful attack. When you read about this you can't quite believe it's happening in the UK in 2020. Surely this evil fucker deserves a more severe punishment than jail.

He absolutely does. And whilst there’s no short term fix to avoid evil bastards like this committing these types of crimes, our government needs to understand that flattening a country and turning into the most lawless society on earth has consequences down the line for poor innocent people sat in a park simply enjoying the sunshine. It’s just a tragic situation.....

This chap was a Libyan refugee... The UK has saved his life by giving him a home here. I just can't possibly see what his justification is for killing a bunch of innocent Brits. All in the name of an outfit that causes more misery to already impoverished societies in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Lybia etc. But yep in terms of wider context, the next time the UK go to war, it would be helpful if we had a plan to keep peace.

We helped create the religious fantatics, I mean in some countries we even armed them FFS. So we created the environment where all of this flourishes. You say we saved his life, he will say we ruined it in the first place. I'm not justifying it, I'm saying unless we sort our foreign policy going forward we'll continue to stare into the abyss. It's unfortunate that some of the decisions of the last 25 years in that region in particular cannot be reversed, the genie is well and truly out of the bottle.

There is a lot of suffering in the world due to oppressive regimes. No one deserves to live in a country where if you say the wrong thing you're shot dead while your mother and sister are raped. Democracy (freedom) is the second most important thing we have on this planet and without it, life's barely worth living. But the problem arises when a dictator gets overthrown, the suppression of the people all bursts out of the "bottle" you refer to. What comes out is one giant flood of anger, hate, fear, suffering and lack of education. These people have never experienced freedom. Factions quickly develop between religious sects, political views etc and before you know it there is violence and civil war. There is a fine line between removing tyranny and introducing anarchy. Fuck knows what the answer is.

Factions quickly develop between religious sects, political views etc and before you know it there is violence and civil war. There is a fine line between removing tyranny and introducing anarchy. Fuck knows what the answer is. Two very good comments, containing more wisdom than our leaders are apparently able to digest right now. (Or willing to admit publicly) In my earlier post regarding failures to "legislate morality" I didn't intend that to come across as crass or uncaring. Whatever we invent as any type of solution to stop tragedies like this needs to be done, or at least tried. The UK is truly paying the price of being a good ally to the US - we drug you into a vicious pub-fight with our big mouths. I agreed with a ferocious response to 911, but why the hell we went into it without a peace-plan....I guess we were just that pissed off? But since then, we seem to want to get involved in every neighborhood dispute no matter where it is. So for NOW? We (The US) need to worry more about issues at home. When a country overthrows their own government - it's their issue. On the odd occasion that something needs done "on the ground" then it's high time other countries (Than the UK, AUS or US) do something besides talk. Don't give me that "moral high ground" crap if you just sat there doing NOTHING, then want to throw out smart-assed insults after. I'm talking to you France, Germany, Japan and others. Rand Paul was once asked what his Foreign Policy is he quickly and correctly replied, "Why can't we just mind our own damned business?" Shortly after he further explained, "Because we go around starting too many fights and pay way too much of the bill." If we keep wading into these "genie out of the bottle situations" we are going to keep reaping the result. Our foreign policy as of late is similar to driving around Los Angeles randomly shooting into houses in different neighborhoods. We do just enough to keep things stirred up. So label me as an isolationist if you wish, but I'm definitely no "globalist" if that's what they call this chaos now.

Disgusting and very sad. Utter cowards 4 of them picking on a young lad on his own. What is it about carrying knives. They need to start making examples of people found in posession.

Its actually quite scary to watch as a father to see how easily a person can be murdered and for no reason just scares the shit out of me. Parents worry about their kids as a matter of course and things like this make me go cold.

Absolute pure scum we need tougher sentences for these sub human creatures. What were the sentences? Tougher sentences in general for murder, rape, terrorists etc. personally I would bring back the death penalty where the proof is irrefutable.

How things change hey from a slap to stabbing at the drop of a hat.

How things change hey from a slap to stabbing at the drop of a hat. The UKs a worse play now as a youngster and it won’t get better till radical change is made. A lot of this is down to the changes in Policing. No fear from youngsters who stand filming rather than being respectful and a mainstream actively looking for negative stories that they never give the full story on. No doubt there are bad officers but there’s a huge majority of good ones who receive zero support from the people with influence.
