The Robin Hood which has always been a bit of a dive since Iāve known it has been taken over by Joules so thatāll be worth a look maybe. Anyway thatās enough about Hartshill. Can anyone recommend another area with a cluster of decent pubs? 4or 5 will do. Also pubs with enormous beer gardens?

Donāt really go there unless itās a stop off in hot weather to sit outside, find some of the staff a bit obnoxious TBHš Miserable fucker that bloke who runs it and the staff are mostly rude and unnecessarily off-hand. Plus, like most Titanic pubs, it's fucking expensive for decidedly average product. If I'm going to pay those prices I'll go somewhere with decent beers like The Hopp Inn or Artisan Tap.

Can anyone recommend another area with a cluster of decent pubs? 4or 5 will do. Also pubs with enormous beer gardens? Eccleshall has 6-7 pubs all close together. Yes like Eccleshall too. Glad the Eagle has been taken over, went a few months back and it was a bit of a dive. Has Merckx closed down? It certainly had a unique charm. I liked it for its spit and saw dust nature. No other pubs like it in eccleshall (probably for good reason!). Also the only place that showed all stoke games! Yeah Merckx shut down last year unfortunately. Itās since reopened as The Ecclian. Just a standard little boozer now, nice enough.

The last 4 or 5 times I've been in, the Ā£5 pint has been flat/pissy tasting and I had to take it back to the bar only to be greeted with a shrug (and even then they didn't replace it - just tipped it in a new glass). The little craft place Bru (what used to be the cobblers) and The Glebe are my pubs of choice in Stoke Town these days - better product, better service and they don't take the piss with the prices. In short, Titanic can suck my fucking balls.

Princess has gone proper shit (in terms of beer and clientele) and haven't been in The Crescent for about 18 month as everytime we used to go in it was always full of pissed up/beaked up Geordie builders itching for a fight who happened to be staying in the ultra-budget 'hotel' situated above the pub. Park Inn is decent though, as is The Congress* a bit further down the road towards Longton. *superficially looks like the pub that time forgot but offers a great selection of well-kept beers

Used to walk back there after the game with my mate who lives in Longton but not so often in recent times, preferring to amble back down to Stoke and taking in London Road Ale House and/or The Glebe. The Strand in Longton is a decent enough pub too but can be a bit of a strange one. On one occasion it could be full of discerning, affable drinkers, whereas on another it might be populated entirely by people who definitely have tags on their ankles. It's a lottery to say the least.
