No, not the track by Fleetwood Mac. I am thinking about tomorrow, Monday Morning. Monday is the first day of a long working week and no one likes the end of a weekend and the return of the 9 to 5 routine, or whatever people work nowadays. This feeling of dismay is often referenced in song such the Bangles "Manic Monday" or the Boomtown Rats "I don't like Mondays". Tomorrow its a Monday with a difference. Many people in retail, and other areas such as Churches and libraries, will return to work this over the next few days for the first time in more than 11 weeks. I'm sure that many people will be glad to return to "active service" and a change from a dull lockdown routine. But for very many others, who have become accustomed to a life away from the workplace, tomorrow might be the worst Monday morning ever!

I was a bit nervous about going back to work 2 months ago but after 10 minutes it was back to normal and tbh I was glad to be doing something other than sitting around the house. I genuinely don't know how people have coped so long being off work because I was close to going mental and I basically hate my job as well.

Best of luck to all back tomorrow and indeed fingers crossed for those of you on furlough. I have been busier than ever as worked on flood response in Feb which merged into covid response so a crazy busy period. I have slated my employer over the years for legit reasons but right now there isn't anywhere else I'd rather work.

Sheikh: "'I don't like Monday's' was about a girl who really really didn't like Mondays!!!!"
Yeh ok. It's the sentiment that is relevant here. There is probably no other day of the week that is maligned or even hated in the same way as Monday is. It is in some way Psychological. And tomorrow is perhaps going to be several times worse than usual. It can be really difficult to pick up the routine again.

Will be tough for lots of folk alright, and plenty of companies will gave spent the downtime working out how to reduce their headcount when furlough ends.
Next few months will be horrific.

Quite true. And many companies that have been operating some sort of reduced scale business activity in the last few weeks, have found already that they can actually cope with fewer people. Employers have had a chance to explore new ways of working with fewer hours of employee attendance, or by moving more operations on line, or by offering take away and home delivery services. A lot of these new stategies may only become clear in their impact as business and trade start to move into gear as lockdown restrictions are lifted. Its rather like a middle distance track athletics race with a staggered start, and you start to see the results and advantages on the bend as the stagger unwinds. The new normal will quickly reveal itself.

It'll be strange for me tomorrow as I won't be going in to work for the first time since this all began. We've all been furloughed until the 1st of July although I think that's a bit optimistic if I'm honest. 140 people (roughly) in total and we're the largest employer in this part of Wales. Demand for what we produce hasn't stopped completely but slowed significantly with a high percentage exported to mainland Europe. There's an absolute minimum staff requirement for each shift running 24 hours 5 days a week. Stopping is the easy bit.

I endorse good luck to all you folks returning to work, Iβve worked all through this being in care and my days off have been very unusual due to the lack of doing what I would normally do, hate returning to work after holidays etc, whatever you do just throw yourself back into routine and try to put the recent events to back of your mind whilst remaining safe of course!!

Been working all the way through although most of it at home, I stayed away in a hotel last week (for key workers only) for the first time since lockdown, was very strange, food in your room and nowhere in the hotel open.
Must be so hard for those who are shielding and haven't left their property.

after three months working from home it was back to the office today, it was too hot in there and a ridiculous set of restrictions to abide by.
But, no wife chipping in my ear or chores to do, lots of girls in summer clothes on the riverbank outside, a sandwich and an ice cream for lunch, plenty of banter, and a pleasant drive in.
Best of all, peace and quiet as the phone system wasn't back on.
So glad to be back.

There's two separate groups of locals who hang out on the promenade, one bunch of four smoking weed, and another group of about 7/8 partying with take aways and beers. It might be a smallish place but it's got a few weapons.
