Its not as if he his needed, he his along way off there starting line-up. They wont need him for the FA- CUP, so we will have him till the end of the season, if you think about it really.

Given the joint farces of Diao, Hendrie and Griffin signing on until the end of the season all too lately last year, I don't have great hope for this deal going through seamlessly.

You would hope that Stoke have already started asking the question ??? he's been a mainstay of the side this year, so far.
The only reasons I could see it not being allowed would be an injury crisis, quite a big one, or a decent bid from elsewhere.

Is it not possible that someone would offer a bit of money for him in Jan and we won't. Or a lower Premier league side will want to loan him and the player and whiskey nose think top league experience would be better. Or Vidic and Ferdinand run off to set up a commune for gormless looking folk in the alps.
The possibilities of it f(_)cking up are endless.

I'd say the obvious worry is that someone else comes in for him.
If we try and extend the loan and there's no interest from anywhere else then I think we'll be ok...of course he's out of contract at the end of the season so if we could whack a decent offer in we might get him permanently???
or am i just getting stupidly optimistic?? ???
i hope not, because he's been magnificent so far, and can only get better!

Ferguson has loaned Ryan out so he can get some valuable first team experience. I'm sure he has absolutely no intention whatsoever of selling him to anybody, and is merely waiting for the time when he can introduce him into the Manure first team, which I'm pretty sure won't be this season. Loathe them or loathe them, Manchester United are probably the best club we could possibly loan a rising young star from, because no-one else can steal him away from us.

He's out of contract in the summer.
I think it's a very open question as to whether they'll want to even keep him, regardless of the fact he's been a real star for us at this level.
Is there any likelihood of him getting a game there in the next 5 years?
He's clearly already at a level where he could contribute really well for a certain type of team at a decent level. But that team won't be Utd for many, many years - if at all.
They may just seek a decent fee for him next summer?
I don't think he was considered to be a nailed-on future first-teamer at Utd, apparently didn't really excel at Antwerp - and wasn't one of their elite prospects.
I suppose when you're one of the biggest clubs in the world with the ability to go out and spend £30m on a centre-half in the recent past, you play by very different rules.

What would you reckon the tribrinal fee would be for him, as hes under 24 ain't he,
I say £1.5m at least.

Yeah. Given how well he's done and the amount of press coverage he's got, I suppose it'd be £1m+

I think we have a "relationship" with Man U (specifically fergie) that means we have a high chance of keeping him . I think he gets on well with Rudge at a guess .

I think this is the only way we would be likely to lose him for this season. beyond that i would just guess that sod's law says we won't get him.

I hope we keep him and Zakuani. So far Cort has proved hes not the best defender but will get you a goal or two but we then need to get another CH and ive seen no one better in this division.

Cort is improving defensively. Not quite sure why he should improve at his age but he has looked better in recent games. I thought he had a good game in attack and defence against the Blades.

While I have many reservations about Mr Pulis his ability to develop and get the best out of defenders must be virtually beyond question (with the obvious exception of Paul Williams ) For that reason I'm not surprised Cort has improved, and will hopefully continue to do so. If only he had the same midas touch with central midfielders! RoryM

Shawcross's loan ends in January unless it is extended. So does Cort's - but we expect to buy him.

TBH I'm not in the least bit surprised that Leon's improved since the first couple of games. He was always going to take a bit of time to "bed-in" IMHO, especially when you consider that a team's defensive strength relies as much on organisation as it does ability.

zak is on a season long loan, lets hope we can get him for a good price. he has dropped down the pecking order slightly, but i rate him as a central defender and have no qualms about him replacing ryan for sunday. the midfield replacement however is more worrying

Ferdinand Vidic O'Shea Brown Pique G. Neville Silvestre (Although i think he maybe out for the season)
These players all seem to be ahead of Ryan at the moment at man Utd so i can't see why a season long loan wouldn't be a viable option.

If true, it'd be almost impossible for us to lure Shawcross back and I can see Ferguson doing Keane a favour.
