Why why why ...
do always a person sent to hospital in a tv movie get a tube stuck up in the nose?
Don't they realize how rare it is to end up with a tube in the nose at a hospital in reality, even at the emergency unit.
According to my brother who has worked in that sector more than 30 years it almost never happens.
Now seeing "Flight" with Denzel Washington. The plane has just crashed. Tube.
Saw Seinfeld, when George was about to get his tonsils removed. Tube.

Why why why ... do always a person sent to hospital in a tv movie get a tube stuck up in the nose? Roger Ebert had a list of Hollywood cliches that this nose tube thing would fall under. The following link has a few, but some extra Googling would find more. List of Hollywood ClichesA sure bet was always the fruit or veggie cart getting tossed during a crowded street chase.

I thought this was about Gerald from Peep Show.
Tube up his nose. He's got a tube up his nose.

I've never been to hospital but if I wasn't offered a tube up my nose I would refuse any medical care until one was sorted.

No way I'll be clapping next Thursday after that behaviour

Any excuse 😁 I only just realised Gerald and Sidekick Simon from Mid Morning Matters are played by the same bloke. EDIT no he's not, the guy who played Simon also played Mark's flatmate Jerry in series 9. They look alike though.
