He is also featured on the BBC News website: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53042684The article includes an interview. He is very clear and articulate so I don't understand why they needed to put subtitles in the interview; perhaps the BBC wanted to make sure he got his message across to everyone.

This young man is going up and up in my estimation, are we certain he isn't a Stokie?

Credit to his family.

Well done lad. You are an inspiration. Learning sign language to be able to 'speak' with disabled children during lockdown, and then taking on the government regarding kids meals.
Your family and friends should be VERY proud of you.
Sports personality of the year indefinitely for me !!

Great stuff Marcus.
Most of the current England players are very likeable - Kane & Sterling have been doing great work and now I hear this about Rashford.
Cant give enough credit to Gareth Southgate as well. He does mentor the young players very well and pushes them to be great on and off the pitch.

Bet when Matt Hancock criticised Premier League players he wasn't expecting Rashford to be all over them a couple of months later.

Johnson puts a smile on Marcus Rashford’s face! Now Johnson needs to apologise for the racist language he has used in the past.

Unbelievable work from Rashford and an example to all footballers on how to use their platform but it shouldn’t have taken public outrage to overturn something this straightforward.

From what I've heard about the lad I would imagine Rashford has more integrity in one of his bogies than Johnson will manage to amass in his entire Premiership (if not lifetime).

Well done to Marcus rashford, speaking so humbly about his upbringing. Shame on Teresa Coffey, the sheer arrogance of this minister is staggering !!

Johnson puts a smile on Marcus Rashford’s face! Now Johnson needs to apologise for the racist language he has used in the past. Boris has always claimed that his quote about "piccanninnies with watermelon smiles" has been taken out of context. Sadly (for him) he's never managed to explain what it is about the context which made his quote inoffensive!

When some celebrities, who I shan't name here, start lecturing everybody else on certain matters, I normally roll my eyes and ignore it.
Rashford, however, has put his money where his mouth is, invested time in people and made an issue that was being swept under the carpet headline news. He's fantastic.

A great thing he is doing, well done to him.
Shame that in an industry where people are earning £250k a week that he's from, people earning £20k a year have to contribute to it in their taxes as well.
probably 1% of the Sky and BT contracts could cover free school childrens meals all year.

Rashford has been brilliant over this issue but being a great bloke does not equate to being in or out of the England squad.

Boris has always claimed that his quote about "piccanninnies with watermelon smiles" has been taken out of context. Sadly (for him) he's never managed to explain what it is about the context which made his quote inoffensive! Of course it was taken out of context. The context it was taken from was an article in the Daily Telegraph aimed at a mainly geriatric, mainly very racist, group of members of the Tory party who respond to this sort of language and who could elect him as leader of the party. That Johnson’s defence of the language he used is basically, ‘Don’t believe a word I say because I am just an indolent, mendacious, incompetent cult (sp?)’ should be a matter of shame on him and on the country. I would like to let Johnson know that when I say that I think that he is an indolent, mendacious, incompetent cult (sp?), I really do mean that I think he is an indolent, mendacious, incompetent Cult (sp?).

Perhaps if we the public opposed the ridiculous expenses allowances of MPs then we could feed the hungry children of this country instead of having an elite element who are happy to claim for paper clips and bog rolls.

No child should go without food in this country given the amount of money spunked on various vanity nonsense. Feed the kids then let’s build ridiculous rail networks and trident subs. I’m not a socialist but it’s not hard to sort the real stuff out first. As a tax payer over 20 years now this is the kind of thing I want my money spent on first.
Rashford has done a sterling job on what is a shameful position.
Why aren’t all kids to a certain age fed for free at school anyway?
Edit- I recognise they fed to a certain age I meant a lot older.
