It's a shithouse trick, virtually cheating wouldn't want anyone in my team who did it and you can tell the players know it is because it only ever seems to happen in tight games no one does it when they are 300 runs ahead only when its 10 or 20 to win and they need a wicket. Holding went mad at the windies u-19s doing it to win a world cup match.

We are just about to enjoy a third super over - and there’s only been two games!!

Morgan always gets a score and Bairstow has hit a few. Good to see Stokes slip straight into it as well, he hasn’t played for months. The commentators really get on my tits though with how patronising they are. Mark Nicholas said something along the lines of “you probably don’t know who Coulter Nile is but he’s a seriously talented batsman”. I mean he’s only been playing international cricket for about 5 years! Crikey. In fact they all do my head in, Mbangwa, Petersen, Morrison. Rant over. It’s been good to watch😀

Working from home - with my office being in my living / dining room means I can have the IPL on in the background while I’m grafting. (Yes - I can multi task!). Anyway - I agree with you. Nicolas is a pain in the arse. As bad a commentator as KP.

Easy to get complacent about the standard of fielding in T20 cricket, but this is still pretty special - noting this is the last ball of a second super over!!

To be honest I’m usually home from work before the 3’oclockers so watch pretty much every game. I follow KKR as it was a team I’d picked to win it before it started. You got to have a team to keep the interest going. I believe England have been offered a short winter tour of Pakistan, not sure if anything’s been announced yet?

Nice to see Jos Buttler (finally) find his gears in the IPL...
Most encouraging has been Archer’s performances throughout. He has been excellent throughout and was again yesterday. Very fast, very accurate. CSK opened the batting with Sam Curran yesterday and he found Archer unplayable.

Archer looks like he has got David Warner’s number (this time with a little help from a friend).
Very promising considering we’ve an Ashes series down under coming up next year.

And he’s more than capable of exploiting that perennial problem Bairstow has with his bat and pad being miles apart.

Archer has been the bowler of the tournament for me in this format. Just goes to show we should be bowling him in short 4 over bursts in test cricket with Stokes doing the other half instead of Root flogging him for 7/8 overs in a row.

He’s also shown he knows which end of the bat to hold when he’s got his pads on! He’s been the standout in a poor team with Buttler just showing occasional glimpses of form, Stokes struggling to find rhythm with bat and ball. The good news is Steve Smith is batting like a drain. Long may that continue!

Jofra on fire again in today’s game (Rajasthan Royals v Kolkata Knight Riders) another wicket in the first over. Plenty of English interest in this one with Stokes and Buttler alongside Archer and Morgan captain of the Knight Riders.

Moeen has just managed to run himself out by about 3 yards off a free-hit.

Does anybody know if England have any plans to tour this winter apart from the South Africa white ball series? Heard Pakistan had offered but can’t see anything on the ECB website.

Just South Africa this year and then I think we’re due to go to Sri Lanka and India early next year. A fair few English players off to the BBL after the South Africa series.

The very last act of summer(?) (in November!) is now underway: the IPL final.
And it could be a cracker.
DC batting - and after losing 3 quick wickets they have replied well: 136-4 with three overs to go.
Advantage MI just now, but you never know!

Got it on now. Safe to say my Mrs has had better days off work😀 Looking like a stroll in the park for MI. Again against DC. Pity the Sunrisers didn’t see off DC, think it would have made for a better final. Sunrisers were atrocious in the power play in that game though.

Sunrisers were atrocious in the power play in that game though. It’s been a fun tournament. Well done to MI. Next up some white ball cricket in South Africa which could be very interesting. Nortje and Rabada are top draw with the ball, as is de Kock with the bat. But that is for another (yet to be created) thread. Time to say goodbye to summer 😭

Bit of a damp squib in the end. Pity as there’s been some fantastic games this year. But fair play to Mumbai, probably the best team overall throughout

I enjoyed the IPL Group stages, but the play-offs have been a bit of a damp squib because the Mumbai Indians have been so obviously a level above the other teams, especially as they have 2 great T20 fast bowlers whereas the other teams only seem to have one each.
It has been a bit of a novelty this season that it has been fast bowlers rather than leg spinners that have been the tournament stars (the top 4 wicket takers were all fast bowlers as were 7 of the top 10).
Time to look forward to the England tour of South Africa and then onto the Big Bash.
If we are going to be stuck at home for the foreseeable at least there should be some watchable cricket over the next couple of months.

I’ve watched a load of it as I’m stuck in the house with Covid, the whole tournament has left me feeling cold to be honest, I just struggle with T20 cricket in general. Enjoyed watching the English lads when they were playing but other than that I think it’s been fairly uninspiring.....
