Currently planning spending a big chunk of what will be my redundancy money. Mrs Q wants a sun-holiday in January & is favouring Jamaica. I could potentially sneak in a West Indies Championship game, if they're playing.
The sub-continent is a no-no. Mrs Q won't go there (fears of Delhi belly).
However,
Aus v India or Aus v New Zealand would be top of my list.
Any recommendations anyone? Doesn't have to be test cricket, just a decent standard & a bit of sun for Mrs Q.
This is all covid-restrictions dependent, of course, but all ideas welcome.
Ireland are touring the West Indies is January. 3 ODI’s and 3 T20’s. The venues are Barbados, Grenada and St Kitts👍🏻. In Australia the Big Bash T20 competition is being played throughout January so spoilt for choice there. There will be plenty of English players too no doubt. Finally as you mentioned there are a load of ODI’s and T20’s against India and New Zealand to go at. Cheers mate. I was looking at St Kitts only yesterday (as I used to know a young lady from Nevis). Flight direct from Gatwick, I think.
That looks spot on as I can claim my Irish ancestry for the match.

No probs. January 18th and 19th are the 2nd and 3rd T20 internationals👍🏻

Interesting finish brewing in the Bob Willis Trophy final.
Essex built first innings lead so they win in the event of a draw, but Somerset could post a decent score today and go all out attack in the field tomorrow.

It’d be shite if it finished and the team scoring most runs in first innings wins

It would be a huge shame to have it finished in that way.

Credit to both sides for an excellent final, still too close to call halfway through the final day...

Any of you watching the KX11 v RR IPL game.
There’s just been the most astonishing piece of fielding I’ve ever seen. I’ll try and dig out a link. It’ll be on line at some point.
Edit. Here you are...

Bit shit, it went nowhere near the other fielder for the catch!
Brilliant stuff!

Feckin he’ll that takes some doing. Has to be the best save ever I'm a Test man but that was one of the most remarkable games of cricket I've ever seen. The innings by Tewatia was astonishing. He couldn’t lay bat on ball. 17 runs of 23 balls then he hits 6 sixes off 7 balls. Add in another Archer cameo hitting his first two balls for 6. A brilliant game.

Badge- were you at meakins yesterday (where longton imploded)??? I’m afraid I was. Shit it🤦🏻♂️ I've got nothing against longton (used to have some cracking games against them as a kid). Shame as you/they have been topping it all the way through. Sure it was the same last season (might have been the season before) where meakins were topping the league going into the last game of the season, but played porthill who were 2nd. Porthill beat them to top the league. Porthill very good side, especially their bowling!!!

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/54399195As a Warwickshire supporter, delighted to see Woakes get the recognition he deserves. So often seems to be overlooked in this regard. Consistently reliable with the ball and often contributes a handy knock.

The final action of the summer is now underway - the T20 final between Surrey and Notts.
Actually it’s a 16 over game.
Highlight so far this extraordinary non-run out...

Very. I've travelled in Pakistan and if neighbouring Afghan driving is anything like Pakistani driving then I imagine their road fatality figures are horrific too. I remember once being in a taxi (an old Morris Minor) which was being overtaken by one of those highly decorated trucks you see in Pakistan, which itself was being overtaken by another such truck. Three abreast, horns blaring, while passing through a village with people manning stalls right by the side of the road and all this on a two way road with traffic coming the other way...all you could do was laugh at the madness of it! They had a very Inshallah approach to road safety!

I always said there can’t be any road laws there, I actually thought it worked quite well letting everyone just get on with it! But still RIP to the fella, awful for a young talented sportsman🙏🏻

They had a very Inshallah approach to road safety! The only place I’ve ever been more scared was Cairo. I asked the taxi driver why he was driving without lights on at 22:00 at night and he said that it’s what many of his colleagues did to conserve their batteries. At one point he was doing 70mph in a 30mph zone without his lights on whilst watching something on the TV on his his phone. When I asked him to slow down and concentrate he told me to “relax”
