By way of a bit of sado-masochism I got to thinking about all the great boozers we have visited over the years following the mighty Potters around the UK...and elsewhere I am torn between the Southampton Arms in Kentish Town (v Arsenal) and the Ship Isis in Sunderland, both had a great selection of top notch ales to sample...Southampton Arms maybe shades it by way of their excellent pork baps I'm sure others will have plenty to add to the list...giving us ideas for the future ‘The South’ as it’s called to us locals (I live less than a mile away) is an unusual, unique pub in many ways, especially when it reopened under its new guise over ten years ago with its simple vinyl only, cash only, and rotating ciders and ales. It’s won a lot of CAMRA awards, and there lies one of the main problems. Besides, you couldn’t swing a cat in there, it tends to get overcrowded, especially at the weekends, with people coming from afar. All said, even though I don’t go there often (and sometimes long for it’s previous incarnation as a family run, old school type of pub), it’s worth a visit. Did you go to Gospel Oak Overground station (10 minute walk away) to get to the game? If so, I can recommend the Tapping the Admiral pub in Kentish Town if your going to an Arsenal game. It’s a 2 minute walk from Kentish Town West Overground station, which is 3 stops from Highbury & Islington station. www.tappingtheadmiral.com/

Who knows what the football world of 'the new normal' is going to be like. Anyway, there's no reason why Stoke, under MON, shouldn't have as good a chance, if not better, than most teams in the Championship of getting promoted. Besides, there's always a chance of cup tie.

Was thinking more of being able to go to pub and game not so much re footballing success. Spurs ought to try a relegation you might enjoy some of the away days more. Tbh I think Stoke should be successful soon enough

That big pub at Blackburn for away fans always has a great atmosphere, The green man for obvious reason but I suppose we've done that many down the years it's hard to recall all. Is it the Fernhurst summat like that? It is good though. Yes the Fernhurst great atmosphere a decade ago, but recently just pub food and small selection of ales and atmosphere.

Bradford away, we stumbled upon a pub near to the ground with us and Bantams alike. Did free food for punters and just a great atmosphere. We don't play Bradford very often, so not sure when we'll be back.

The Irish bar in Leipzig? I thought the atmosphere the night before and after the match was amazing.
Packed to the rafters, great atmosphere, we'd still got some hope.
This was superb...
Its a real shame the club don't make more an effort with the fans pre-season it really is. It should be the best part of the year.

And let's not forget our old mate Tony's brothers's bar in Pill's Newport -pre match for Cardiff One of my best ever away results when we overturned losing the home leg only to win in Cardiff What a great host he ? was in Pills And I recall a man giving a rendition of an old song, standing room only ? which was fabulous - word perfect - what was it??
