On an adjacent matter did you see the story last week where 30 young men in Belfast were beating one another up in the street over a young lady. And all the many complaints on the police Twitter were about the social distancing, lack of!

One of the best left backs. Thought he was better than Ashley Cole and Stuart Pearce personally......always seemed classy, technically good, pacy and would get stuck in as well.

He was our best player at the 82 World Cup. Just as Ashley Cole was in 2002. Neither got the credit they deserved. Must be a left back thing.

Did he ever get over the mauling he received on the opening day of the season by that unknown Mark Chamberlain?

Did he ever get over the mauling he received on the opening day of the season by that unknown Mark Chamberlain? My claim to fame is that I nutmegged Chambo on Newquay beach when he was still at the Vale in 1980. I remember thinking though who the fuck is this guy. He was there with Russell Bromage, his brother and a few other Vale players and the only way you could take the ball off him was to think the opposite of what was logical! BM

For his sins my mate lives in Leighton Buzzard,or should I say Boozehard, and said he often saw him getting wankered in some shithole pub there. Its very sad,he never lit my fire as a player but in those days a left back was a left back.....he was solid enough.
