I'd think about bringing Gascoigne off he's not having a great game.

I see the sanitized UEFA misses out the dentist chair celebration. Yeah very controversial.

Redknapp has changed the game On a separate note this was the first football game I ever remember watching. Not a bad introduction to the world of football mate

Pleased to say I was there and took my son who was 10 at the time. We both thought it fantastic. I thought that we were fortunate against Poland but great against Holland. If memory serves me, England really took the game to Holland . Shearer and Sherringham were sublime.

I went to 4 games: Italy Czech; Russia Germany; England Holland; England Spain. The first two were really absorbing (opening group games are to be avoided, the second round of matches become more interesting), England Holland was surreal, England Spain we were a bit lucky if I recall but the atmosphere was amazing everyone on the seats singing 3 Lions afterwards...
I think it was a good tournament overall - the 92 one was pretty boring at group stage especially IIRC. Of course the best ever was probably 84 when France won and our TV channels showed about 2 and a half games. That was a harbinger of something - the reasoning was no one would watch because Engerland were not in it.
It's a joke that we haven't hosted a world cup since 66, we do get decent crowds and a buzz going for big tournaments. That's not British exceptionalism it's just our bloody turn!

England 🏴 v Netherlands 🇳🇱 is on tonight. If I'm not mistaken, Peter Heokstra and Ed de Geoy both turn out for the Dutch in this game. Not unusual for a couple of(future)Stokies to be on the receiving end of a pelting! 😎

Certainly didn't finish the game ans was his last game for the National team. Like APB1 was at a few games. Bulgaria/Spain Germany/Croatia Czech/France and a couple more that escape me.

Even more so when they keep suggesting USA are in the running to host a World Cup again! They can piss right off. USA 94 is yesterday compared to how long we've been waiting. But then again i'm sure it really eats away at the FIFA money men that 'soccer' doesn't have the popularity in America it does almost everywhere else. I'm sure they will get a World Cup again before we do. Just think of the money the fat cats could make if they ever managed to make football as popular in the USA as NFL. Thats the kind of thing the FIFA bosses have wet dreams about!

Thats the kind of thing the FIFA bosses have wet dreams about! To be fair the USA hosted a fantastic tournament, they have the infrastructure and a joint tournament with Canada makes sense. Australasia really should host for me, should have when awarded to Africa but with the amount of teams qualifying these days might not be possible.
