I'd be more concerned if we lost Josh Ireland than Sankoh, different positions but overall I'd say he's better prospect

How to the fees work for these players? Read that we paid £1.75 million to City at the tribunal, as skint as we are it probably helps to some degree.

Hopefully such a knock-back has dented his confidence a little?
The choices now appear to be to look for an alternative club or remain within an environment where he has done well and is valued to hopefully progress his career.
If he did decide to remain then no doubt an offer from a bigger club would be forthcoming, if he is as good as he and we think he could be.
No doubt he has already made his mind up with his agent touting him around Europe looking for the highest fee.

www.kicker.de/781330/artikel/vfb_vor_verpflichtung_von_16_jaehrigem_sankoh_wird_zum_check_erwartetIt quickly became clear to Mohamed Sankoh that he wanted to join Stuttgart. The young Stoke City striker was so impressed by the visit to the Stuttgart club grounds and the meeting with the Stuttgart officials a few weeks ago. Now the 16-year-old is expected for a medical check-up. His commitment is imminent.
Sankoh is considered to be one of the most outstanding talents in Dutch football. The striker, whose roots are in Sierra Leone, has been a welcome guest almost everywhere in Europe with his small army of advisors and confidants in recent weeks. When it recently became public that he had trained at Chelsea, the move to VfB seemed a long way off.
But the caravan, which has also met with interest from AC Milan, Atalanta Bergamo, Tottenham and other European flagships, is now turning to Stuttgart, according to kicker information. Sankoh, who was U-17 European champion with the Netherlands in 2019 and already played in the U 19 and U 23 at Stoke, is to be introduced to the professional team via the VfB II regional league team. A talent at a bargain price.
VfB Stuttgart is about to sign another foreign junior player. Mohamed Sankoh is already in town and the transfer for the club's U19s is almost perfect.
Sankoh, who was U-17 European champion with the Dutch national team last year, is already in Stuttgart and is undergoing a medical check-up. Then the transfer should be made completely fixed. The attacker with roots in Sierra Leone should first train with the A-Juniors under coach Nico Willig, then he can be carefully introduced to the professional team via the second team in the regional league.

Makes Brentfords model become more attractive by the minute. Closing academy and youth centres down in this covid world may be a great way for many teams to save money.

Perhaps clubs shouldn't be involved at all until 17? Possibly, the distribution of youth footballing talent is crazy, it is concentrated over the biggest teams and isn't great for competition. If outside the premier League they gave up with producing kids then it wouldn't b really change anything apart from reduce costs for the lower league teams.

a "small army" of advisors (or hangers on as they're known)?. Sounds like that is 'what's best for them' routine.
you can just see that being problematic in the near future. A shame as I would have liked to have seen him at Stoke.

From stokecity the Dutch U18 national striker and U17 European champion Mohamed Sankoh moves to the NLZ. The 16-year-old has signed a long-term contract and is now entering #VfBU19 training. Welcome to Stuttgart, Mo! #jungundwild
