He's obviously with his 'people' checking out options - in Portugal and elsewhere, but is def reported as enjoying his time here. His older brother Abdul not got the same promise, so just released.
Only hope behind the scenes a contract's ready waiting for him, as soon as/ if our Ch'ship status is sealed.
Also that MoN could persuade him with first team chance and developing his game - we need to do everything to keep him, hold off the big clubs until the inevitable.

Could be a direct replacement for diouf in the first team squad when his contract ends.

Could be a direct replacement for diouf in the first team squad when his contract ends. I hope that this is the case. Sell on Gregory as well and have a forward lineup of Sankoh, Campbell, Vokes and Afobe. That’s not bad really for a potential play off push next year.

Why is so much pressure lumped on young players to succeed instantly and if not they are disregarded like this. Have a look at some of the 'Golden Generation' and what age they started playing competitive regular football. Collins has recently turned 19, Tom Edwards 21 and been in squad for bit now, Sorensen 20 and Oakley-Boothe 20. I don’t think anyone’s being disregarded mate. My point was these players need time to flourish. Whilst we all judge players the younger ones don't seem to be given time before they are seen as no good.

Offer a 3 year contract with promise of first team game time and a set price escape clause and who knows he may stay on?

If we can’t keep him and Ireland than that’s a real disappointment.
Two of the best players in their age group and 2 players that should have been in and around the first team in 12 months.

I’m rather hoping probably stupidly he may come back to us with his best offer for us to match? Clutching at straws really as he’s probably gone.

He’s moved to a club with the best youth set up in the country. It’s not just about money is it. Lazy argument.

Got to agree with you Bayern, even if he does just go out on loan a lot, he could well have a great career. There’s a few players who’ve done that, and managed to jump into their team. If he doesn’t and spends a career like Van Ginkel well then he’ll get to travel a lot in his 20s and get paid well to do so. All of this is assuming that he continues to progress of course. Good luck to the lad. Shame we weren’t in a position to offer him a spot in the squad at the end of the year, even if he was a kid.

They have a fantastic record of producing players but hardly any of them end up making it into their first team. I know Mount and Abraham played a lot of games for them last season but I’m not so sure they would have done if it wasn’t for the transfer ban. Surely a club in Germany who offer a clear pathway from youth football to the first team would have been a better option for him?

I think that pathway has been shown to be there now with Lampard and Morris. Only he will know what’s best for him. As I said earlier, if it was me, I’d move to Chelsea. They are the complete package.

I understand the system mate and we cant complain having abused it ourselves, was just wondering whether we'd get anything at all, as it didn't say The most remarkable thing about this system is that The Football League clubs voted for it!
