Thanks Franklin, I'll have a look tomorrow......what's a BBC ONE thumbnail When you upload your picture there will be a drop down box with various codes in for different kinds of pictures. If you chose the bbcode thumbnail it shows up in the small format you see in most of the pics on here. It also saves space on the Oatcake hard drive so we don't have to keep asking Davef to delete stuff to allow new pics.

Bamboo central alert!. I might have neglected to mention that a few weeks ago I actually bought some black bamboo seeds and having read the propagation instructions for which you need a chemistry degree I thought I'd failed miserably. They weren't expensive so it was a case of what the heck, give em a go. On the basis nothing was going to happen I used the material for a spider plant tendril. They've germinated!. Don't tell murph. đłđ WHAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatâs wrong with bamboo ?

There's a picture of the front of my place on the previous page and the idea was to get the half barrel (as recommended) and tuck it into the corner to break up the 'newness' of the place, having second thoughts now. I just quite liked the structure of it.

Saved this little fella the other day it appeared to be struggling so I gave it a drink of sugar water and he flew off after half an hour of rest and free food, cotton bud dipped in sugar and a drop of water on it it lapped it up.

Technology and I have never mixed well..... Re. space on the Oatie hard drive, I always try to save space - when replying to a post & also including it, like here - by deleting what I can of the original IF it can be deleted without altering the essence of the post. This is esp. handy if the original post was a long one &/or if it contained a pic or other sort of artwork which doesn't need to be re-included when I post my answer.

I'd like to make/ build an ornamental well. Other than looking on the internet/ Youtube, has anyone got any advice/ plans? Don't have experience of building one but I do when it comes to digging one out. Our cottage in Bedfordshire was the old village dairy farm in its previous life and when it was sub divided my neighbour renovated the barn which had the old well. It seemed a good idea at the time to excavate, perfectly brick lined construction but we stopped hauling buckets of mud up when we were about 12ft down because we were getting wet under foot. I suppose there was nothing stopping us building up a few courses of brickwork to partially reinstate it but as it was now forming part of his property it was his ultimate decision.

François, let it be known that, like Bisp, you are multi-talented..... but this time as a nuisance-ridder. I only mentioned the bluebottle to you that one time and very soon afterwards it vanished and hasn't been seen or heard since. I say this as they usually stay buzzing round for days. What a success rate. Thank you!

Just a thought, my four little oaks have put on another growth spurt and are doing really well. They're all in the same tub with a decent South facing aspect. At some point I'm going to have to separate them, is it best while growing, dormant in the winter, early spring. Any thoughts.
