Suppose it depends in individual circumstance. I am fortunate enough to have a income regardless of this situation. I havent even thought of a refund and as far as I'm concerned that money has been paid. If it was to help our great club survive then I would not seek a refund. I had not yet renewed my ST as thought I would keep money on the bank until knew what was happening with corona. As soon as we are back then I shall renew

I had not yet renewed my ST as thought I would keep money on the bank until knew what was happening with corona. As soon as we are back then I shall renew I renewed mine before the season was cut short, like most on here I’m not concerned about this years remaining fixtures but I do understand that some will be well pleased to have a refund as their circumstances have changed and they may now need the money. As for next season I’m prepared to wait and see what happens, I’ve paid in full so the moneys gone out of my account and wouldn’t have been there anyway. None of us really know where this thing is heading or for how long, and what happens if theirs a second spike and we see things escalating again ? It may be a long time before we can sit comfortably in our seats again. Let’s hope things will change in the coming months, stay safe everyone and take care.

I've just tried calling the ticket office to ask for a refund for 5 x Reading Tickets, the recorded message says its now closed.
I can't see anything on the official website about refunds.
Has anybody else managed to get tickets refunded ? if so can you point me in the right direction please ?
Cheers

Over a million people have been made unemployed by coronavirus
And football tickets are expensive
They should be refunded their cash

The Supporters Council are aware that some members of our community need money more urgently than others in these very difficult times and will update everyone as soon as we have any further news. As stated in the article, it is a little more complicated than just refunding to cards and the ticket office being closed is an obvious difficulty. Stay safe everyone and get ready for the undoubted roller coaster end of season behind closed doors games!

I happy to let my season ticket money sit with the Club but the Reading away 3 tickets I had is a different story.
I can’t understand why people who paid by card can’t have the money refunded, it’s a very simple process

I would imagine the club will offer refunds to those who really need it first of all and take it from there with the rest.

The refunds of away tickets really should be expedited. It took a month for the Monte Carlo Masters to refund over 136,000 tickets, so why are Stoke making excuses over a total of about 4,000 away tickets, most of which will likely have been paid by card?
Yet again it’s sit on hands time from an organisation that’s incredibly backward when it comes to technology and customer experience, led by the pig headed Scholes.
I’m going to initiate a chargeback for my away tickets. I’d suggest others do the same, as the club are legally obligated to respond to the credit card companies within a set timeframe, and there’s no justification for them to keep your money.

As Chair of the Supporters Club I emailed the club about this today. I got a reply in less than half an hour which is pretty impressive for a hot Sunday. There is a senior management meeting this week after which we may have some dates. I do have a lot of sympathy with the Club on this one. Staff are working from home and this is a major financial undertaking, and of course for much of the lockdown its been unclear when or if or under what conditions the Championship will resume.
There are of course three different types of refund due - those who have tickets for Reading and/or Wigan away; season card holders and those who have brought individual home match tickets. At the risk of stating the obvious, no-one yet knows what the position will be for next season, which makes it impossible to offer the refund against the cost of next years season card for those who hadn't already purchased one. The FA's worst case scenario is that we might go the whole of next season without crowds in grounds. Let's pray not. And we await to see what the position will be with streamed Championship games.
The legal position is clear, if you have brought something which isn't then provided, you are entitled to a refund, but all football clubs will be looking at offers designed to keep their customers and keep money in their bank account at a very difficult time cash-flow wise.
It now looks almost certain unless the virus position deteriorates that the Championship will be played out behind closed doors. I think the EFL are following in the slipstream of the PL in this - letting the PL take the lead and sort out the problems.

That’s fair enough Malcolm but how hard can it be to refund the away day tickets, especially those who paid by card. It’s a simple batch refund that should be automatically processed by the Clubs Acquirer.

Does the money for away games get immediately paid to the away club, ie Reading and Wigan ? I guess there could be that factor as well for those complaining re refunds. Interesting comments from Mark Palios at Tranmere today and how so many clubs live hand to mouth per game. Wigan are one of those clubs speaking out re the financial impact the virus has caused them.

I think the way it works is the away club(us) would get an allocation offer off the home team lets say 2000 tickets, then we have to purchase the whole amount then try to sell them and if we fail we are stuck with the rest, then if we sell out we can ask for more.

That would make sense. The problem is with the recent uncertainty so many just think a 5 minute job and all is sorted. Must be chaos at clubs at the moment. Man Utd have only announced refunds a week ago for league games, LASK took a good while for a club of that size.
