Why do you want a refund? You were happy to support the club with your season ticket money, the club are now supporting all staff with full pay consider it as a donation to a good cause. It’s a really simple concept. Pay up front for 23 games a season. If you don’t get to attend those games due to them not being available to fans, then we get refunded. Don’t give me all this bollocks about supporting your club. Not when players are on average £1.5 Million+ a year. Silly comment. Obligatory pop at players earning money....

Our owners, the same owners who have donated 10M to the NHS, who have guaranteed salaries and jobs at both of their businesses, including part time Matchday Staff, are also the same owners who have frozen season ticket prices throughout our stay in the PL and also introduced a free away travel service, both of which have continued into the Championship at a reduced income for the club. How about we stand together with those people and forgo taking any refunds in a show of solidarity to what they are doing in our community and also a little bit of a thank you for keeping prices so low when other billionaire owners could, would and probably have in the past profiteered from the least wealthy at the first sign of success? I'm more than happy to waive my refund because let's be honest, at current ST prices i'm already well into profit based on matchday prices. VIS UNITA FORTIOR

And that's fair enough but - neither you nor anyone else can take that decision on someone else's behalf. For what it's worth I've not enquired about refunds nor shall I do so until such time as there is any final decision on the remainder of season - at which point I shall take a view on the relative merits of any options available. Similarly I haven't cancelled my gym membership and other things because I want them to be there when this is over - not gone bust. However I am lucky that I still have a steady income (though my wife's has reduced dramatically but we can trim our outgoings accordingly) and so can afford to sit tight and still be relatively benevolent. Others are not so fortunate. If the season is cancelled and/or played out where it cannot be seen then people will be entitled to a refund. It can be suggested that people waive that for a noble cause and I'm sure many (probably myself included) would do so- and good for them if they do. However no-one should be shamed for accepting a refund to which they are entitled - whatever their motivation for doing so.

Quite apart from all the other complicating factors, many of which Paul Spencer has identified, there is also the issue of the profit and sustainability rules, previously known as Financial Fair Play, which means that it's not as simple as rich owners just pouring money in football cubs. I've been thinking about this quite a bit Malcolm and FFP clearly will need to be suspended or measures added to account for Covid-19. Those clubs that have self financed like Stoke and done the right thing cannot be penalised compared with those that have reduced their wage bill either by furlough or negotion with players. As Alex Neil points out if that reduction in costs was later used to finance new signings when we eventually get started it would be morally wrong. As would penalising clubs on income because they had to play behind closed doors. They might only be small margins for some but FFP will have to take account of this. It will be an almighty bun fight especially in the EFL given the difficulty gaining consensus on anything financial. I suspect we had a fairly serious FFP issue looming but there will have to be a substantial relaxing of the rules to cover the current scenario and it may well be that this ends up being our get out of jail free card.

Well if we're all going to 'stand together' then either it goes to a vote or someone makes the decision for everyone else - either way it excludes dissent or that's not really standing together - or at least that's how it reads. However I'm not going to argue as I'm sure your point is well intentioned.

You were happy to support the club with your season ticket money, the club are now supporting all staff with full pay consider it as a donation to a good cause. That is great for you , but what about the over one million people that have recently been made unemployed by coronavirus . And have to apply to a totally overwhelmed universal credit system for help The millions of self employed who now have literally no work and have to apply to a totally overwhelmed universal credit system for help Etc etc

I can totally understand them doing that though Me too, I'm in same boat with Ryanair and more than happy accept vouchers. I should have been going Spain on Monday, and I'll be booking back up to go as soon as I know it's safe to do so. Can imagine the cash flow of lost travel companies are at breaking point at the min. I agree with the sentiment but Ryanair in particular have been having our pants down for years and now want to be our best friend. The vouchers are just a ploy to keep YOUR hard earned cash instead of following the law and offering refunds.Be aware that accepting vouchers from any company negates from future claims for section 75 on credit card or chargeback through your bank from your debit card via chargeback..so if they go bust you have no comeback...only saying!

I disagree re having our pants down, you know what you get and they offer the chance to go places other airlines don't. Be a massive loss if they were to go under for so many. The problem with the likes of Easyjet and Ryanair is so many book with them, are happy to take their cheaper prices but don't read the terms. They are what they are.

I've used Ryanair for around 10 years and usually twice a year, their prices are stand out cheaper than anyone else. They have no-ones pants down except the lazy that can't be arsed to read terms of what you're purchasing. (With the exception of a recent computer problem preventing people from checking in and then charging at the airport for check in.) Now I'm not saying I agree with how they've managed this situation, I was led to believe I was applying for a refund to only be sent vouchers, but this is the 1st time I've got a complaint about them. This whole thing of Ryanair will charge you for anything is just bullshit, Why should I have to pay 1 all in price when I don't mind where I sit, I can check in easily on my phone the night before I'm travelling, I only go to sunny destinations so only take a backpack with Shorts & Tshirts & Undies in. So like I said, they've been good to me over the years saving me lots of my heard earned cash so I feel it's only fair I return the favour and accept the vouchers to help them with their cash flow which I'm sure isn't looking too pretty at the minute, but I don't want them to go under because I want them to fly me to Spain as soon as this is all over.

I had already paid up for next season, which I cannot see been played in front of crowds till until 2021 at the earliest, this years season ticket money should be donated to the Donna Lousie trust and the local NHS.Those who have already paid for next season should get a discount for the following season. Its money we have paid out so we are not missing it,but if you want a refund then so be it,but if the season restarted you would not be entitled to the cheaper rate.

I think the sensible thing would be to offer people refunds and then let them make their own decision. If you don’t want to claim the refund, fine. If you want to claim it and donate it to DLT, so be it. Some people might need the money currently after losing jobs etc.

Works out at around £17 per game. Most people would spend that on transport, pints maybe, refreshments etc. I don’t think one hundred quid or so would be life changing for many who have season tickets. One or to maybe. So choice to give it to a charity would be better. Maybe easiest if the club announced anyone can claim a refund by a certain date. If it’s not claimed then it goes to a local charity. Then inform us how much they maid in non refunded money for the charity. Simples. Only my opinion like.

It will be up to the individual...refund offer has to happen...I currently sit with 2 adult season tickets and 1 junior so maybe approx £140 ish refund with them ...but another issue is that I have 4 reading tickets and 4 Wigan tickets ..over £200 worth ...so a £340 refund will be welcomed for me to do with whatever I choose not the clubs choice

I'm not too worried about the season just gone, it was around 4 games, and if they are televised then it's hardly worth bothering with that. Reading can refund my money as that's nowt to do with SCFC. Next season I don't want to watch if it's behind closed doors and so over to the DL/DMH etc.

Talking to my old man last night and he reckons we won’t be back at the Brit till Jan 2021 so we will be missing quite a few games. I get that people want refunds etc for this seasons ticket and we will probably need something for half of next season as well. However, one thing I would be happy with (if cash in the club is an issue) would be getting some kind of credit against spending at the club. This could be at the bars / food outlets in the ground once we get back or the club shop against club merchandise. This would be better for the club I would imagine and also be acceptable for most fans. What do people think ??
