One thing I was told to do for my back to releave swelling etc was to flush the muscles to get rid of the inflammation its easy and cant hurt to try get a hot water bottle and ice or frozen peas alternate every 30 seconds on the area concerned what this does is make the area expand and contract pushing out the inflammation its worth a try anyway Thanks! 👍 I'm told by my physiotherapists to only use ice against the inflammation. This I am supposed to use for 15 mins (fingers/palm) to 20 mins (forearm) twice a day. Instead of NSAID, which I don't stand. But hm, I've thought about eventually getting some NSAID gel and apply a small amount of it anyway. It's just day two of the setback on Wednesday, so hopefully it will settle down within a fortnight. I felt I was on a roll with acupuncture after the soon five months.

How's it going, musik? It's good to see you finally got to actually see people, though that doesn't seem to have helped with some aspects.
My swollen finger (around 4 months ago) that became a swollen hand is now a swollen arm. I finally got a doctor to inspect it a couple of weeks ago, and he doesn't think it's anything serious. I'm not so sure though. X-rays and blood tests came back clear, but I have to wait for an ultrasound.

Glad to see your X-ray and blood tests went ok, Vadiation Ribe!
I'm having acupuncture sessions now. The outcome varies. Sometimes if feels better and sometimes it feels worse afterwards. I've noticed I can tell in advance what the result will be. If it hurts during the session it will be bad afterwards for many days too, until the next time. If it feels hardly nothing it will be good afterwards as well. The goal is partly to get the lymph system circulating so I can move my elbows more easily.
So far I have met ten different doctors and therapists, plus about ten nurses as well. Their diagnose varies. Most of them are pretty sure though that the other medical professionals diagnoses are wrong.
Last time I was told laser therapy might be good, but they had no idea where I could get it. I searched myself and found a private clinic doing it, but it was rather expensive. I can get acupuncture for "free" so that's good, since I've reached the health fee maximum we have here in Sweden. But laser therapy is not included in our system, it's not accepted for some reason.
I have also discovered another physiotherapist who works with infrared biolight. I could get that for "free" too there, which surprised me since it's normally only private clinics who offer that. Btw, some years ago I actually bought a big infra red light to treat my back, but I hesitated then. I might try it on my elbows?! It's often used on race horses, and the physiotherapist says on the website that infrared biolight works for any mammal. But maybe it's a difference between infrared light and what's called infrared biolight - I got to find that out first.
Acupuncture, laser therapy and infrared biolight lies within the same treatment field in a way - and they're all for improving circulation, reduce swelling and to heal - only explained in different words.
Two of the three orthopedists I've seen has put surgery on a pause mode, and haven't ruled it out in the near future. I don't understand that at all! It all started in mid April. I rested (in accordance with the health care plan here, for this kind of medical problem) for three weeks, then went to see a physiotherapist and a doctor. I should have been given surgery then, in early May, and not been offered an eventual operation for it around Christmas, when the swelling already has made it's nasty parts during the summer.
Maybe you could try one of the methods I've described to reduce the swelling?
You mentioned ultrasound. They have admitted an ultrasound test should have made it all so much clearer in my case. With an ultrasound test, they can see if there's any nerve impingement left somewhere, the degree of an eventual tendinitis, signs of muscle inflammation etc. Then they wouldn't have to wonder what the current problem is/problems are, and what has happened. But they haven't given me one. Like everything else in Sweden these days it's a question of money, everyone's on a tight budget. But it would have saved everyone half a year of doubts - ME in particular.
And then of course we have ultrasound treatment - also within the acupuncture, laser therapy and infrared biolight field. I found a clinic where I can have an ultrasound test done and also ultrasound therapy. It's private so I have to raise some money and pay for it myself. It's within walking distance. Hopefully I can have it done there this winter. Hopefully the 2nd wave of Corona doesn't close the clinic either, and/or makes it hard to even get out.

Have you tried injections or needle fasciotomy?

Have you tried injections or needle fasciotomy? No mate I'm not at the required contraction my fingers are still relatively straight. I've been told to just wait until it needs surgery. I'm retired so although it effects me it doesn't impact work. I can hold a drink so im OK for now.

Last time when I went to one of my ortopedist's I got injured. It's 2.5 weeks ago and it's still not good. It was when the fingers strength were tested. An awful "pop", "bang" or "click" kind of sound appeared in my arm beneath the elbow. Both me and the orthopedist noticed and heard it of course. "Wow", he said. It did hurt as h**l. And I still can't use two of the fingers. Probably a tendon rupture, my female therapist told me last week. So I waited 14 days(!) for him to write the medical journal (to know how he would describe it) - and this weekend he did, digitally. Not a single word(!) about the accident/incident. 😠
Therefore, tomorrow morning I will write a long message online about it - and demand an ultrasound test asap!! It's the best way to see tendons I guess, and they can also follow changes when body parts are moving in real time.
Tuesday: acupuncture again. Thursday: hand therapist #2 (at the other hospital).

Sounds terrible I remember a few years ago I was having issues with my neck and shoulder, couldn't turn or raise my arm above my head for anything other than a few seconds. I ignored it for ages before I ended up visiting a chiropractor who cracked my spine and neck and hey presto the pain ended almost instantly. I was genuinely shocked at the noise it made but bloody nora it worked. Only cost about £50 wish I gone years before.

Shoulder wise had an injection procedure under ultra sound up at the North Staffs that lasted for about thirty minutes and touch wood the shoulders been 90% better since. Hopefully the shoulder will get back to normal. Will you get a 2nd or even a series of injections? How did they come up with the fibromyalgia diagnose? A relative of mine got that diagnose many years ago, but there were no real test done or so and doctors have even admitted sometimes here it's an end product diagnose, when they actually don't get what the problem is. As I understand it, one main symptom the muscles get tired far too soon. How is it treated? I had thirtyfive years ago a right shoulder injury when playing tennis so I couldn't move my arm, I couldn't lift it. It was treated at the emergency unit with one injection shot w cortison steroid at random. It was a supposed tendon inflammation and the joint affected in some way injury (no x-rays, scans or anything of course). However, the doc said it was a serious case and I should need 10-12 injections totally - but I never needed any more than that single one! So injections can really make wonders. No shoulder problems since until this spring, with pain again (after too much renovating at home), and no way I could lift my arm. This time I treated it w total rest plus regular use of Arnica Montana Extra Strong gel.

Second and thereby last visit to my second therapist today. It's a pretty long way to get there. I got some exercise putty to bring home and work my hands with. From now on I will only have my first hand therapist, the one within walking distance.
I suffer from painful electric shocks on the back of my hand since 1.5 weeks. It's very annoying. But the tendon ruptur pain in my right is very much better now after three weeks after resting, a wrist splint at night, minor amount of gel (3 times) and ice.
I've become very sore at some parts of my upper forearm now. It could be a radialis nerve impingement as well. Probably as a result of an recommended adjusted moving pattern due to the ulnaris nerve impingement.
This is just so ... I don't know. Anyway it shows how narrow the margins are.
Fighting on.
They call it passive exercise. It's not a question about how many days or weeks or even months before I can try some other more heavy exercises and tennis (dream goal). This is said to take time. 3.5 years regarding the assumed tennis elbow, and 5.0 years regarding the tendons. About all the other stuff, nerve impingements, golfer's elbow and compartment syndrom to settle, I can't say.

Found out tonight I have a kind of hard lump now at the side of my left hand or wrist. Could it be the tendon? I have severe problem w pain now and can't move my wrist sideways. When I just touch the side of the forearm beneath that area I get an explosive stinging needle-like pain in my fingers.
I also have a minor lump at the side of the same forearm closer to the elbow. This could be a hernia due to too little room for the side muscle inside the fascia.
I'm also very sore around my armpit. The muscle attachments?
I don't know if these things are connected , but I do know it's impossible to get a sonography, ultrasound exam. Not even an answer to my request 3-4 weeks ago.
But I do have been suggested nerve impingement elbow surgery if it's getting even worse this autumn/winter, despite at least one of the orthopedists thinks it's not that and even though that kind of surgery should have been dealt with in May to normally have a successful outcome.

How's it going, musik? It's good to see you finally got to actually see people. X-rays and blood tests came back clear, but I have to wait for an ultrasound. During the night to today, at 03.15, something extraordinary happened. An express courier mailman delivered an important letter to me. In the middle of the night! Luckily I was awake since I had some candy late after midnight watching "A Touch of Frost" (Crime tv). I can't go to sleep after candy - it keeps me awake. Anyway, it was a paper letter with a link to a questionaire about how I was treated at my last visit to a health clinic. "Randomly picked". I don't think so. I was mistreated, so I guess they have reported themselves. Asked my brother about it (he's within health care) and he said they can report themselves, and it happens now and then. I reckon it gives them some plus points. Anyway. Still no call from the big Main central Hospital here, for a first examination. I've been waiting 5 months soon after they confirmed they would send me a letter with a time to an ortopedist/surgeon. The other northern Hospital I wrote a request to haven't sent me a time for an Ultrasound exam (sonography) yet. I've been waiting a month. That's peculiar, since it's a modern hospital w all this X-rays and Ultrasound possibilities at them. The third option, the Hospital my local Health Care Clinic where I'm listed at, sent me to are closing at the end of this year. Politicians. I have no idea how they think. They will build a new hospital in the same area in 2023 or something, which is mad for two reasons at least - in the middle of Corona, when hospital beds suffer a lack, when many people have got their operation canceled, and finally: there's nothing wrong w the existing hospital building! I have begun to use an infrared Philips lamp my grandmother used to have. I have also started to bend my elbows more and picked up some Qi Gong movements. But I have no treatment offered by medical staff atm. I do consider Biolight treatment - at a local physiotherapist in early November. I imagine it would be like acupuncture, regarding the circulation goal. This treatment is often used on horses, pigs, dogs. All kind of mammals. I have now reached the health expenses card limit, so I won't have to pay for these treatments, if so. They also offer shock wave therapy. Some kind of treatments, offered at other places, aren't included in this system. So if I choose laser therapy (which is reported to be good) I have to pay anyway. I also haven't ruled out to push for an ultrasound and for surgery once more, plus a reminder to that Big central Hospital here for an ortopedist appointment.
