Today I have been mostly drinking Affligem and Brew Dog Lazy Jane. I may need to have a small lie down shortly. Any food required afterwards or is it a drink and die?

I found out where The Glebe sources its pork pies from this week, acquired a couple and have been sporadically munching on them (accompanied with wholegrain mustard) throughout the day. As such, I do not require the services of Snoop Dogg's primary income provider, Just Eat, just yet.

I haven't had any this weekend. However I do say again. If Anyone is in Morrison's look out for Shy Giant by Wychwood Brewery.
It really does taste fantastic in my opinion. It's an American hopped Amber ale not too high percentage.

Don't know if this has been mentioned already, so, apologies if so. I had a Perfect Draught machine bought for me for my lockdown 60th birthday in March. Best pressie ever. A keg gets chilled down to 3 degrees and once inserted lasts 30 days, its a 6L keg, roughly 10 pints and pours beautifully. You are limited to around 35 different beers, from lagers to craft beers, from 4.5% to 9% strength. I am currently on a Leffe lager, 6.6% which is bloody stronger than I am used to but its a cracking pint. The machines are not cheap, seen them for around £199, but it will be great for parties and barbies when we allowed again, in the meantime I will keep supping (not on a school night mind) www.beerhawk.co.uk/perfect-draft-range/perfect-draft

Well six weeks since “the Hypertensive Crisis” incident I started having a small beverage on a Friday night just to make sure the old liver doesn’t pack in😉. But I’ve had a change of thought, the cider and lager has been replaced by a glass of Merlot and I must say after not drinking for a few weeks seems to have rejuvenated my tastebuds. So two things, has anyone else ever completely changed their alcoholic preferences? I mean I have very rarely had red wine in my life until the last couple of Fridays. Also can anybody recommend a decent supermarket red wine costing under a tenner a bottle or is it just trial and error till you find something you like? Probably a daft question🙄

Probably a daft question🙄 There was something on the telly this morning apparently about a Lidl red that came out top or near the top of some taste test or other (it was my sister telling me about it and I only half listen to her sometimes lol). £8 a bottle it is, only so much available tho. Best I had was an organic red from Waitrose, few years ago now, but I'd keep an eye out for organic on the strength of that.

I'm obviously in the minority, not had a drink for months and don't miss it. I just miss the social aspect of it.

How much a pint does it work out at Buzz ? do you get money back for the used kegs ?

Kegs are anything between £29-£37, so it works out between £2.90 and £3,70 a pint, you do though get £5 credit for every return which lowers the average cost of a pint. You get offers which seem to always be on where you get 10% discount for buying a twin pack or 15% if you buy a triple pack. It a beer club so bottles and cans are also available.

Picked up a few stouts from Morrisons in Nantwich after the Hanley Town friendly on Friday night
Dearest bag of potatoes I have ever had with :
Brewdog Nitro Jet Black Heart - Vanilla Oatmeal Milk Stout - 6.0% - £3.00
Brewdog Nitro Choco Libre - Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout - 8.2% - £3.50
Northern Monk Norse Star - Vanilla, Cacao & Almond Imperial Stout - 9.0% - £4.00
Not seen these in Newcastle Morrisons
Was about to start on them, when had an offer come through seperately for
Facers Flintshire Chocolate Cherry Stout 5.0% - 5L Cask £20
Should last until next weekend and hopefully we can go back out
Fingers crossed!

Goose Island Midway Session IPA is £2.99 for 4 cans near me (Home Bargains/Quality Save). Lovely stuff.
Also recommend Green Gecko from Lidl at £1.09 a bottle and am also partial to a bottle of Mythos when it's available.

I ran out of Torps for my Sub (polished off the last of the Affligem a couple of weeks ago) so been back on the Brewdog tins of late.
Hazy Jane, Punk IPA, and Elvis Juice.
Asda always tends to have decent offers on with these (big Asda stores, not the little shitty Asdas).
