Been on the Black Sheep Pale ale tonight , a Yorkshire ale. Oddly enough I've drank less this year than I have in about ten years, lovely to have a few at weekend and occasionally in week but haven't been over indulging at all. Lol can see I was 50 this year eh How was it. Enjoy? I like Black Sheep not had the pale ale though. bit too toffee-esque but 3 bottles went down well before opened wine

I'm a big fan of :
Beartown Creme Bearlee
Tiny Rebel Stay Puft Porter
Previously RAN Ales Rum & Raisin Stout was going down a treat until Nev sadly decide to finish
On mainstream cans, finding Murphy's (£3.99 in B&M) a lot better than Guinness (£3.99 Home Bargain) at the moment
At Tesco Brewdog Evil Twin Nitro Stout is tasty for a 8.5% stout but steep at £3.50 for 400ml
Cannot seem to see Beamish anywhere these days - draught or cans

Being a fan of beer in small cans I’ve picked up a couple of cases of red stripe (coke can size) 24 in a case for just over a tenner in aldi
Morrisons have been doing Sam Miguel and corona in same size.

They often have it on at the Crown and Thistle in Kidsgrove.

Someone told me that Robert Plants lad runs that dunno if it’s true If this is true and they don't do a beer called 'Misty Mountain Hops' then there's something wrong with the world. They're getting mixed up with Beavertown brewery I'm afraid. If you like 'ordinary' Creme Bearlee (which is outstanding) try Imperial Creme Bearlee. Strong stouts have ruined me for anything below 8%. Aumundsen and Kees stouts are where it's at, ridiculously good, unfortunately ridiculously expensive, but we'll worth it.

I’ve worked in Belgium quite a bit and I can safely say the Stella is a completely different beast. Somehow at the time it feels stronger and I’ve woken up on pavements in Brussels after a sesh (ok one pavement once) but always feel right as rain in the morning. But over here 3 or 4 hours of Stella writes you off the day after. Horrible hangovers🤷🏻♂️ You're right, I think there is something different about a lot of continental beers. Visited a mate in Prague many years ago and he told me you have to refrigerate their (delicious) beers and drink within a few days or they will go off like milk. So maybe all the preservatives and shit we put in ours has something to do with it?

I'm not a massive IPA/Pale drinker, though I did get into a few over summer. Brew York beers are worth looking out for in Morrisons if you want something a little different. I ended up ordering a mixed case on the strength of a couple from the supermarket. Summer drinking was Sours (which are starting to appear in the supermarkets more) and the revelation that was straight from the freezer Newcastle Brown.

Yeah I first sampled that actually in York last year in some Baltic market. Was good stuff. I've really started to like APA / American style IPA in the last few years.

DIPAs, TIPAs all that stuff is mental. I went to Portland last year and tried a lot of their gear. They're very snobbish and insular about it there at the breweries, the bar I found that was just for drinking was excellent though. Barcelona is supposed to be the place to go close to these shores.

Aldi have got a great selection of beers on at the moment. Picked up a Belgian Abbey beer called St Pierre Belgian Blonde at the weekend. Lovely drink. Very reminiscent of Leffe. 6.2% and only £2.99 for 75cl.

Right if you don’t publicly apologise to me on this board that’s me done with you, not as if I’d accept it anyway. Everyone stick up for me and get him/her to apologise. Am sorry. I could also bore you with one a story whereby one of the best pints of bitter I’ve ever had is a pint of worthy at the cresswell arms near Carew castle. No offence meant, double d just reminds me of going the social club me parents. Can’t remember me owd man or anyone ever saying they miss it or even mentioning really. Never tasted it as I think I was only about 8. You’ve made think about getting on eBay and see if you can get one of them takeaway kegs. Again I apologise not all taste buds are same hope you’ve found something similar since.

I am partial to an IPA.
Beavertown Gamma Ray and Lagunitas are probably the 2 favourite that I have discovered during lockdown. If you like IPAs, I strongly recommend you give these two a go.
Aside from IPA's, I'm also a big fan of straight up, middle-of-the-road, Stella Artois. Sunk a few pint cans of that bad boy this year.
