Value for money or not good enough?
Could easily be either.

I think Scotland is still fairly untapped. There could be some gems to be had I’m sure and for the money is not a huge risk

Go back to the 60 & 70s. Some of the best players in the Then first division were from N of the border.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be, but try to name them. Mind boggling.
Bremner Law Galbraith
Please add more.

I trust this manager 100%. He’s outlined clearly that there are lots of young players with unusually high numbers of games under their belts. If they have the talent, experience, and a hunger to improve we could get a gem like Villa did with McGinn.

He makes a great point about younger players playing loads of games, so potentially you are buying potential with experience, which is actually odd when you think about it.
He's well used to taking players that don't conform to the norm and blending them into an effective unit, at the highest level.
I'm very intrigued as to where he is and will take it.

He'd know the leagues up there well of course with so many of his NI squad playing in the Scottish game.

Bill Shankly said to be successful you need 3 Scots in a team. Anymore than that and you could hVe problems but 3 was ideal.
I dunno of Paisley considered these words when his team had the tartan trident.

What a fuckin player Dalglish was Greatest player I've ever seen in the flesh*. If I went Anfield I'd sit behind the dugout and watch him awestruck. When he was manager like. 😀. *Admittedly if I'd been able to attend more games during our premier league years he may have been usurped.

Can’t go past our own George Kinnell. Never pulled out of a tackle and always seemed to come away with the ball.

In some strange ways, building a reputation as a club who buys on the cheap is what we need. Certain clubs always end up overpaying, while others tend to get a bit more of a fair crack. We need to plead poverty more often on the transfer front.
And avoid Daniel Levy at all costs, he seems to have jedi mind tricks when he negotiates with us.

I watched some highlights of Scotland v England from the 70's over the weekend, Harvey, Dalglish, Macari, Donachie, Young, Jordan, E Gray, Gemmill, Rioch, Lorimer, Johnstone, etc. 1974 match was not Mike Pejic's finest hour

I remember Bobby Howitt and Bobby Cairns. Cairns took our penalties in the day and I can't recall him missing one. He used to just roll the ball inside the post.
