Belligerent and pugnacious shot maker. Gilchrist has always been a personal favourite.
Possessed the enviable eye and reflexes needed to be able to tee off on a bowler from pretty much the first ball of his innings.(Suppose it helps coming in when the fabulous Australian top order have softened the bowlers and ball up?!) Even Lara was vulnerable early on in an innings?
Paragon of sportsmanship too,his propensity to walk before being given out often drawing criticism from teammates.
Fine wicketkeeper (helps when ypu're keeping wicket to the bowlers he did.)
Some other obvious candidates including the greatest,'the master blaster....'

England started this test well and were not that far behind on the first innings and then it all went wrong!!! I was privileged / unfortunate delete as appropriate to be there to watch that and he never knew that he had a chance to get the fastest test ton until somebody told him after the game. When we moved onto Melbourne he was on our flight in economy with his family which was mostly England fans and copped the stick he got with a smile, a very good player and by all accounts a nice guy I know it's an ODI innings but this has to be one of the best ever the greatest

Virender Sehwag was always fun to watch, especially towards the end of his career when he had to wear glasses and could barely see the ball
