There are numerous rumours and gossip going about about smaller retail outlets charging extortionate amounts for everyday items that the supermarkets are running out of due to the masses panic buying. £7 for a pack of 2 toilet rolls and £2 for a pint of milk. Although I don't do any of this kind of shopping there will be many more people that do and are a bit pissed off that there are people trying to make a quick pound out of the situation. So post the names of those who are here. Gouranga.

The other side of this equation Albert is places like the Post Office and Stores at Betley who usually sell a shed load of luxury cakes, and the like, etc and they've cleared them to be replaced with basic goods and items for the benefit of the locals

The thing is this won't be going on forever and those that have decided to rip everyone off should be ostracized and boycotted when it ends. Gouranga.

In Sweden a small shop took 795 SEK (= £66) for a small bottle of hand disinfectant.

It has always been the policy of my family to vote with "my feet" and never revisit a store, service, etc. that has crossed us in some way. I could given numerous examples such as dry cleaner I don't use, a charity shop I don't support (but do many others), and even Barclaycard I don't use because they took a few pounds that I thought was out of order. But the best example I can quote is my father who used to go to Stoke one Saturday and the Vale the next Saturday - people did that in those days, I'm talking 1940s and 50s. My father was very lucky to have a car, something few people had in the 50s, but my father was a commercial traveller (not the Pennies from Heaven one!) so he had a company car usually a small Austin. One Saturday he went to Vale Park and parked his car in the slot he always parked in, but a steward walked up to him and said "You can't park there", to which my father replied "I always park here every match". The steward said "Well you can't park there any more because one of the club directors has got a new car and he wants to park there". My father said "Well tell the club director, he is welcome to my parking place because I will not be using it any more" and my father drove off and never went to the Vale again. I'll tell you another story. My dad went into the Dimsdale Hotel one evening and walked into the Gents Only bar and found a woman sitting in the seat he always sat in. He turned to the barman and said "What gives?" The barman said "This isn't a gents only bar any more." My father turned round and walked out and never went back into the Dimsdale Hotel. He was a bit old fashioned, my dad.

I will not use or have anything to do with Vodafone and have been committed to that grudge for about 30 years. I will not buy Tilda rice. That grudge is only a couple of years old, but it will be in place for the rest of my life. I will never, ever vote Liberal again after they told me the only way to keep the Tories out in my costituency was to vote Lib. And then they formed a coalition with the bastard Tories. (And I detest Vince Cable more than I detest all the rest of them) I will have nothing to do with Lloyds bank nor any of their associated products. That's another 40 year old grudge. And, finally for now, I hope BT perishes into insolvency during my lifetime so that I can go and dance on its grave. I hate BT. I feel better for getting all that off my chest.

Why are you angry at rice? They didn't list Red Peppers as one of the ingredients in one of their packets of rice. (I have an intollerance to Red Peppers) When I complained, they were quite dismissive of the complaint. When I went back to them and complained more strongly, they simply said that "surely everybody knows xyz rice dish (I can't remember which it was) has red pepper in it?" (I obviously didn't and it wasn't listed). I couldn't be bothered to argue, so on to my "blacked list" they were placed. We, as a family, eat quite a lot of rice so that's quite a few quid they won't be getting. They are not missing out as much as Philips & Vodaphone have done though. I work in IT & Telecoms and have placed hundreds of orders for IT, audio and telecoms equipment over the years amounting to quite a few millions of £££s. But none of their products or services has ever been included.

I think it's a trade off to fill spaces left by infections and to unfortunately stack shelves because of panic buying they are 4 week contracts. If the selfish and idiotic did not panic buy they would be fine, it has eased but it's still going on to a degree.
